Great end to the game for ivory coast!

Didn’t stay up for Ivory Coast v Ecuador because thought it would be 0-0. Watching it this morning though it was a really good game.

 

Wouldn’t fancy playing either of these sides to be honest.

I don't know if this guy is racist or not, I've never met him, but he definitely hired the single worst publicist of all time to handle this scandal. 

 

"I made the sign by accident, I didn't even know I did it" is the stupidest excuse in history. That actually makes him look more racist than the symbol. 

 

Like, the circle game is old af, way older than any claim it's a white power thing. He could have just said he did it to prank his mates at home or his kid or whatever and deny any knowledge that it's used as a hate symbol. It'd be completely believable and innocent.

I do get where they're coming from by making out it was entirely involuntary because these wet wipes that think everything is offensive will never believe that something is genuinely just innocent banter.

 

But yeah, he's clearly not making white power signs on the biggest day of his career in front of hundreds of millions of people watching all over the world.

See, that's the part I actually can believe. Like I said, I don't know him, he could hold any belief imaginable. Some people sadly are just racist. 

 

I absolutely would just assume it's an innocent gesture and did when I saw it posted online at first. 

 

But sadly it absolutely is something I could believe someone would do for the wrong reasons, especially at Donald Trump's world cup. People feel emboldened to flaunt their absolute worst selves these days.
