Another Messi master class then ?

Although quickly looking through the BBC comments some aren’t so complementary about the achievement .

Dodgy keeper and lucky to not get punished more for a tackle?

Thought he was lucky to escape a red, very poor tackle from behind.

That's my thinking too.

Ref didn't have the cojones to deal with the fallout of sending him off.

First and third goals brilliant, but how hard was Seb Hutchinson trying here to find a label for Messi lol

'the chief in Kansas City' was very much cringeworthy.

I think they have been lenient since the 1 game had 3 sending off.

From behind, raking his stud down the back of a players calf.

First goal the keeper chuck it in, dreadful goalkeeping.

Third one was a great strike.

Oh and again. Stroll forward no pressure, pick whatever pass you want, then just stand on the edge of the box with no-one within 10 yards.

He's only been the best player in the world for 20 years, how could Algeria have seen this coming!

Jonathan Pearce just simply tried to make it about himself, went on a little aside about how he was there for Messi's first goal and was there for this. Such a bellend.

Messi will now go on and beat Klose's record but Mbappe will probably end up beating Messi's. Mbappe's record in world cup games is ridiculous.

Yeah, I mean if he stays healthy he's probably got 2 more world cups in him. Depends how much he slows down in his 30s and who else France have to replace him with.

He's definitely uniquely placed to set a record that'll last quite a while.

I mean he’s obviously the best player ever, but he should have been sent off for that high studs up challenge from behind, nowhere near the ball.

If an Algerian had made that challenge on him it’s a nailed on red, VAR didn’t even check it…

Jordan look a decent team for 90% of the match but like the Asian Cup final a few years a go, any sign of pressure at the back and they collapse. The keeper was particularly poor at dealing with set pieces. I dread to think what Messi will do to them.
