It’s one of them appointments that you know he’s only a bad couple of results away from fans turning on him all the time.

He could go on a 20 game unbeaten run and follow it up with 3 defeats on the bounce and the fans then only remember the losses. He’s got a heck of a job to get the fans on his side.

Our crowd were at Marti at half time on the first game. We will be on Brussels back at the first back pass. And rightly so.

This shows that the board are absolutely clueless to football and everyone one of them needs to be sacked. McCarron has failed already if he's had anything to do with this.

The toxicity and the culture will continue whatever happens

Appointing Maresca

Appointing Barry-Murphy as assistant

Loaning Doyle and Mukasa

Appointing McCarron

Now we appoint a manager who plays like a poundland Man City.

McCarron has answered my fears, coming from City Group shouldn’t have been looked at as a positive, it should’ve been looked at as a red flag. We know what their strategy is all about, and now we appoint the manager who goes around acting like a poundland Pep.

When Martin gets sacked, if they are not willing to change strategy, then you can guarantee the likes of Liam Manning will be in the mix for the job.

It’s just a shame we don’t follow strategies like Bournemouth and Brentford, because not only will that excite the fans, their styles of football are much more entertaining to watch nowadays.

It's a bit sh1t that this has been widely reported for a week, is the subject of a Telegraph headline and yet zero communication about who is in charge from the Club.

LCFC's official position is that Gary Rowett is still the manager.

If Martin is the alternative I'd rather keep Rowett

As Percy said this at the beginning of the week, I guess the main holdup, has been sorting out his backroom team. He would want Matt Gill as his Assistant Manager, but all the talk at West Brom, is that Gill is staying there. If that's the case, I dont know who else he'd want for that job. Rhys Owen (Performance Coach) is very likely to be coming in from Rangers. Dean Thornton, RM's usual Goalkeeping Coach seems to be happy at Millwall and Ben Parker, the usual Analyst, is well set up at Old Trafford.

So, I would imagine there's been a lot of 'tooing & froing' going on, trying to sort out the backup staff

My bet is that we've now reached agreement with West Brom to release Gill and there'll be an announcement tomorrow, saying he's coming as Martin's Assistant Manager. I think Rhys Owen will also be there. Parker is very unlikely and I reckon Begovic will stay as Goalkeeping Coach, so no Thornton.

As to who Martin keeps from the current backroom staff, Kingy yes, Hughes probably not (hopefully) and I can't remember who the current Analyst is.

Think Gill isn’t under contract at WBA, as originally signed till end of season, he had an offer on the table so likely to have had the choice of either option. Maybe taking longer to get anyone else coming out of other clubs.

Perhaps we've been trying to persuade Parker to come from United! Can't see it happening though.

From a Rangers Fan -

You can look forward to a suicidal high line, a system too complicated for the level of players you have.

Conceding record amounts of chances and goals against you.

Aimless attacks all squashed into the middle of the park, but the idiot's system inverts every position.

90% of your play is between the goalie and the centre half, who Veg Lasso will expect to morph into prime Barasi for the “system” to work.

And once you get beaten, he will gaslight everybody and blame players' “anxiety” and “self-preservation mode”

He will eventually blame the fans if you complain too much, also.

He's a con artist.

Be afraid.

Yeah, unfortunately we already know this.

Under Enzo we destroyed him 4-1 and 5-0.

Then in the premier league he was vile.

Top saw this and thought the best he could do is hire RM

The leadership at the club are just clueless to what the fans want and even more so about actual football. Everyone else is moving away from slow possession based football because it has been found out but we are 10 years behind...

Well, it's proof that there'll be no reset or rethink.

The failure to recognise the need to go back to square one, to divorce themselves from awful, demonstrably wrong misconceptions they had in the post-Ranieri era that this kind of football was the only 'sustainable' kind of football, to overhaul the boardroom, to accept that someone else may need to make the big decisions... it was always going to end badly, wasn't it?

If you want positives, then I wouldn't entirely rule out the possibility of it working in the short term. We might come back up, you never know.

But it feels very, very unlikely to me that, in the long run, it'll go down as an astute appointment. And the chances of it going wrong from the off are immense. There's an unholy level of unrest and disapproval just waiting to re-erupt, and many erstwhile KP apologists will be as bemused by this appointment as I am.

It's an utterly bonkers decision. A huge call. As childish as it sounds, it's as if Top is reminding us that this is his club and he'll do as he pleases with it. I believe he's capable of that degree of incompetence and egomania. There'll be fans who think that if this goes horribly wrong, and quickly, then that might work out better for us over time. Like Sousa in 2010. I'm not sure I agree, but you can see why people would feel that way.

When you raise eyebrows at the decision-making at Leicester City, then as a general rule your worst fears about their ineptitude fall well short of how entirely useless they really are. It'd be wonderful to be reflecting, five years or so from now, on how insanely wrong I was. But the feeling is starting to creep in that, when people warned four or five months ago that the club was on a path to extinction if it didn't correct course, that we're seeing the first motions of a 'this is exactly what you're not supposed to do' masterclass.

Or perhaps Josh Holland was right all along.

Brilliant, passionate and on the money post mate. Sums up exactly my sentiments 👏

Maybe im in the minority, but Martin is the better choice. Both honking though. Rowett should have been no where near this club.

We ended the season a toxic mess. Fans booing the team before the start of the game, performances have been turgid for years and what do they do in a season where we can reset that is so badly needed? Appoint the most hated man in the fan base and do the stupid thing of doing the same thing that has caused the failure of the club

This is either top tier trolling, purposeful sabotage or complete and utter blind moron ice incompetence.

It shows the club doesn't care about fans and doesn't recognise the change in the way football is being played. They can't recognise that this is the best time to reset and start again, like a Pearson style. That is what a proper review would look like and that would have got the fans thinking that there is change and a positive outlook. Not now.

This shows that the board are absolutely clueless to football and everyone one of them needs to be sacked. McCarron has failed already if he's had anything to do with this.

How many times has it to be said McCarron has to answer to Rudkin so nothing will ever change.

Groucho Marx once said "I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member."

No "Quality" manager would join our club, primarily due to the two clowns actively destroying it.

For any decent manager to come here,it would be despite the owner and his fool, and clearly they are widely known to not only be incompetent but also liars.

These two negatives clearly outweigh the positives by a measure.

Martin joins because no one else is stupid enough to have him, end of.

Surely even Martin must look at his failure at Rangers and the collapse at Saints and think better look at tactics and if players are suitable.

His hubris will match the likes of JV, Mavadidi and Winks. Keep doing the same thing that they are unable to do, but do it slower and more often.

Incoming RSI for Aluko’s hips from all the sideways passing. JV and Thomas having the most completed passes, errors and chances conceded.

Was half looking forward to fresh start down there. Stupidly why did I think that would happen.

Guess we haven't hit rock bottom.  Our fault for having some faith left.
