Thing is, one of the accusations was the expanded tournament…

I like the 48 teams tbh. Not such a fan of the ad breaks, and obviously the historical corruption of FIFA.

And that’s still a valid criticism. For every Cape Verde there’s been 5 or 6 teams that have stunk the place out.

 

It’s not that any single team doesn’t deserve to be here - but cumulatively there have been too many weak fixtures.

How many have genuinely stunk the place out though? Some of them, Tunisia/Turkey, have been there plenty of times.
