just got back from the pub, disappointed with the way that went. Couldn’t fault the effort, with no real quality in the squad. Taking Volpato and Irankunda off at 70 minutes was a poor decision, they are the only two real threats we had. 
No issue with the Ryan sub, if the coach felt that was the best chance of winning the game.

And full respect to the players who step up and take a penalty, but massively disappointed in those players who didn’t. Your first penalty needs to be scores and needs to be an attacking player.

Then leaving your 4th to the kid who’s only played 20odd senior professional games is a stinking and those other more senior players should be ashamed of their effort today.

This is a beautiful story. Even if Argentina go on and win, it’s still a Beautiful story. 
 

Cape Verde are the team everyone will remember.
