CloudFox Posted Monday at 14:43 Posted Monday at 14:43 3 years makes me a bit uncomfortable right now...but if we shift BDCR then I'll feel more okay with it. Sounds like a model pro and has performed at L1 level before, so fingers crossed he can find that form again.

But if the club do rate him, then there’s nothing wrong with the deal is my point. we have enough to bash the club with but to me and for anyone on the outside, this seems a sensible move 2

But what are they supposed to do, not sign anyone on a normal deal because they keep screwing up. Might as well pack the whole thing in if we’re not giving a normal deal because we don’t trust ourselves. 3
JimJams Posted Monday at 15:30 Posted Monday at 15:30 People are missing the most important thing here. He's on a 3 year deal, so the point is that this is a great signing for league 2. 2

Surely THAT is the REAL issue? 3
STUHILL Posted Monday at 15:37 Posted Monday at 15:37 He really impressed me for Ipswich in the season we both went up. He looks like he works his socks off every game and has that bit of nastiness that we have lacked since Vardy left. A decent signing considering where we are right now. People can moan about a 3 year contract, but he is 29, not 33 and even at 32 when those 3 years are up, he will likely still have some value for a championship club. 2
Pliskin Posted Monday at 15:47 Posted Monday at 15:47 At his level, he will be decent. Good character. 2

em9999 Posted Monday at 16:22 Posted Monday at 16:22 I think Chaplin will be a good signing and one im behind and agree with personally 2

Sunbury Fox Posted Monday at 17:21 Posted Monday at 17:21 (edited) Really don't like the 3 year deal. Should have been 2 max. You just know that by the 3rd year we'll be desperate to get rid of him but we'll stuck with him as no other club will meet his wage demands. We've seen that scenario play out so many times in recent years. If he wouldn't accept 2 years then move on. Just feels like we always cave in when negotiating for a player. kenny Posted Monday at 17:33 Posted Monday at 17:33 Not keen on the 3 year deal, we already have a small no 8 with a recent sketchy record in bdcr. Is this guy better, seems unlikely to me.
RowlattsFox Posted Monday at 17:43 Posted Monday at 17:43 Would have preferred a 2 year deal but don't mind the signing. But 3 is pretty standard really and I thought he was a couple years older too. Should have a decent role to play.
