This is foxestalk, you could sign Messi and a 1 year free and people on here would say he is over the hill

Top did contact Messi about a deal and is  puzzled as to why such an unassuming character made such a course, insulting response.

Should try for that Bellingham guy. He might be able to make it in L1

3 years makes me a bit uncomfortable right now...but if we shift BDCR then I'll feel more okay with it.

Sounds like a model pro and has performed at L1 level before, so fingers crossed he can find that form again.

He’s 29  not 31. We need to build something that can grow, not sign someone we need to shift next year.

I just don’t rate the signing, 2 years is less of a risk. That’s all.

That’s fair enough that you don’t rate him. But if the club do rate him, then there’s nothing wrong with the deal is my point.

we have enough to bash the club with but to me and for anyone on the outside, this seems a sensible move

But the club have rated all of the players they've signed and 80% of them in recent years have worked out absolutely atrocious 😂😂

Not saying they don’t get it all wrong. But what are they supposed to do, not sign anyone on a normal deal because they keep screwing up.

Might as well pack the whole thing in if we’re not giving a normal deal because we don’t trust ourselves.

...OR, they could figure out who it is that is responsible for repeatedly identifying and giving contracts to players who are consistently not working out and replace them. Surely THAT is the REAL issue?

He really impressed me for Ipswich in the season we both went up. He looks like he works his socks off every game and has that bit of nastiness that we have lacked since Vardy left.

A decent signing considering where we are right now. People can moan about a 3 year contract, but he is 29, not 33 and even at 32 when those 3 years are up, he will likely still have some value for a championship club.

No disagreement there

Really don't like the 3 year deal. Should have been 2 max. You just know that by the 3rd year we'll be desperate to get rid of him but we'll stuck with him as no other club will meet his wage demands. We've seen that scenario play out so many times in recent years. If he wouldn't accept 2 years then move on. Just feels like we always cave in when negotiating for a player.

But is he the same player , we have a habit of buying players that are over the hill

Not keen on the 3 year deal, we already have a small no 8 with a recent sketchy record in bdcr.

Is this guy better, seems unlikely to me.

Would have preferred a 2 year deal but don't mind the signing. But 3 is pretty standard really and I thought he was a couple years older too.

Should have a decent role to play.
