Not sure if he has been mentioned but Have it on good authority he has signed on a free.

A decent capture if true though a little small. Done well for Ipswich if I remember.

I just wish we'd sign a few 6ft plus muscle players who can also play a bit.

Had a pretty poor loan at Portsmouth.

The question is whether that version of Conor Chaplin that tore up league 1 and the championship with Ipswich still exists or did he push himself past breaking point.

What I saw of Pompey last season the ball would have been flying over his head most of the game. Would probably suit us better hopefully.

Pompey are ****ing shit, I don’t think any of their midfielders touched the ball last season?

Always been a decent player, even prior to Ipswich, so I'd be happy with this. I think he's the sort of player Martin would like.

Not really. I used to watch Portsmouth regularly when they were in League 2 and League 1 and he was somewhat underwhelming. Very much loved by fans who considered him "one of their own" due to the fact he joined the club at six years of age and progressed through the youth and apprenticeship route (even thought he was born in Worthing). He seemed to promise much and there was always great affection and excitement surrounding him but never fully lived up to that potential. He was ineffectual at Coventry albeit at a time when the team was poor, and yet impressed hugely at Ipswich finally seeming to have unlocked his latent talent. Unfortunately his much vaunted return to Pompey failed to deliver much. The fact that we are considering such a mediocre player all these years later is simply a sad reflection of where we are. Always struck me as a grafter though and a good lad. I don't anticipate much, but would be delighted to be proved wrong.

Not against this at all as long it's a sensible 2 year contract with option of 3rd, not a straight 3yr.

Good solid start to the rebuild. Just need some toxic moronic feckers to leave! Yeah, looking at you Winks, Okoli, Kristiansen ....fez it anyone who played last season (bar youth players). lol

100%. A signing that makes complete sense in a lot of ways, lets see how we can **** this up

Yeah, it's a genuinely intelligent signing on a 2 year deal with a modest base salary structured towards incentivising performance and promotion.

So we'll naturally make him the highest paid player in League One until well in to his mid thirties.
