Unless for fitness I find it hard to see how you could justify leaving out Gordon & Spence

Gordon off the bench in this one, for me.

Prefer O’Reilly as a player but could understand why Spence might start over him and then sub on Nico second half

Oh yes thats true, didnt win a single group game. Drew all three

Didn’t they draw all but one of the knockout games and final, too?

England lose tonight in a tight 1-2 defeat dissapointing but still a reasonable good run in one of the hardest world cups. If we win 3rd v 4th match than thats a great achievement.

We have to do a job on The Argies tonight, get it done by two clear goals over 90mins.

Take the possibility of dodgy decisions out of it, like Spain did last night.

Come on!

Two things. I don't get why people watch their teams with such a pessimistic outlook, and also present their predictions as fact. You think that's what will happen, but have written it as a certainty.

Sit down tonight wherever you chose to watch and try and be hopeful. We might fail but theres little point in assuming we will.

We might win, we can win but my point even if we lose its still decent tournament. We kept Haaland quiet Saturday and can certainly keep a 38? Messi quiet.

Given that it's only our fourth ever WC semi-final, it probably should be regarded as a decent tournament no matter the outcome. However, I can assure you that if we lose against Argentina tonight it will not be remembered as a decent tournament—it will be remembered as the tournament when we couldn't get past an inferior Argentina side and an ageing Messi...

Usually I am nervous for these, but this one I feel good about it.

Honestly, this time around I didn't get suckered into believing the hype and have been just pleasantly surprised with how the lads have played.

I know there's gonna be some sorta BS involved, but I hope we play well and reach the final.

Let's go!

Think will win tonight plenty of yellow cards and Romero to lose his head and get sent off in the first half after making a few stupid challenges

If England score first, I predict we go on to get 3 or 4 and probably win it in normal time, exploiting their weaknesses out wide as they try to attack.

If Argentina score first… welp, could get nervy and very frustrating.

I think Kane will love playing vs those two CBs, I bet part of Englands strategy with be to bait Romero into charging out of defence, he can’t help himself

Crazy as a neutral I know what you are all going through

I can remember the Scotland v Denmark qualifier and I genuinely felt sick all day

Most game ive been nervous for since I can last remember, hopefully it’s a fair game we all know they will be rolling around at the slightest of touches though and the ref will fall for it need a Bellingham and Kane masterclass

It's been cranking up at work here in Glasgow with the "please don't let them win" chat - plenty of pics of Celebs in Argie kit posted on our Work forum today. lol

The "Anyone But England" crowd, who've been on the wind-up for a month, are starting to worry that we might actually do it, (and that we will bang on about it for 60 years again.  :P )

Praying for us to go through, so they will get the FEAR, while I spend Thursday and Friday posting Oasis GIFs, Bellingham pics and England flags in the group chat.

C'mon lads, hammer them Argies.  Hammer them good and proper.

Yeah I think Romero will get annoyed very quickly with Kane tonight think they should  target him especially because he is a liability
