I was wondering if anyone knows roughly what all the players earn per week/month/year. 

Notice the paragraphs. Bristric for example. What would he be offered. 5k per week. That's £250k per year. What about Braybrooke Page and Alves. Chaplin Cullen a step higher at £10k per week. £500k per year. Not many of us earn that kind of money. Seems a lot but are those figures the going rate. I dread to think about the others.

No one will really know

 

Websites like Capology are rubbish and even the annual wage figures aren't just based on the players basic weekly pay

 

The only thing we really know about wages at the moment is that probably quite surprisingly we aren't failing the SCMP financial rules for the league which means we are spending less than 65% of our turnover on wages

It real time monitored by the EFL so we definitely aren't failing SCMP, the EFL will be sighted on every + and - change in our wage bill.

Too low 

Whilst the Bosnian kid will probably be on a grand a week, we’ll be offering him 10k min. 

for a club with our t/over, I don’t think that’s unreasonable 

 

I doubt many of the 20-23 y olds would take a new deal on less than 20k. 
 

chaplin will defo be higher as his s/o fee has to be taken into account

Projected currently, turnover could massively be affected by form. Matchday revenue is a key driver.

True, but 23000 season tickets holders helps reduce the variance.

Our ongoing costs are still way higher than they should be even if we dont fail SCMP or whatever it is.

 

I would like to see wages fall below 10 million, and then not go above it until after a promotion to the EPL, then only after than no higher than 60%.

Jordan Ayew returns on lesser wages. He politely takes a wage cut and now only earns £50k a week.

It monitored real time, we will not be allowed to sign anyone who takes us over our project business plan.

 

100% they are all over us, they will not sign off signing that doesn't fit within the budget modelling.

I have my doubts that we'd offer a unknown player from the backwaters of Eastern Europe £5k a week. Maybe we would, but let's be honest he'd sign for 20% of that.

Depends who you mean by this? Alves, Braybrooke, Joseph etc aren't getting anywhere near that much from other clubs. Braybrooke could probably get 5 figures, but the other 2 (and probably others) won't have the interest from championship clubs, which is where you're going to get that kind of money.

 

We're in a pretty unique position but the players on £10k+ in this league will be few and far between. That will probably a 1/5 of some teams weekly wage bill

Oh it's definitely as bad as it sounds.

 

It bodes well to remember that the verb for what these people do is 'play'. 

 

I ****ing love football and everything it entails, but if it simply stopped tomorrow the actual mechanics of society aren't affected greatly. People will find other sources of entertainment. In terms of actual societal input it's an asymmetric relationship; these people take and get far more out of society than they contribute.

 

But you can't put the genie back into the bottle.

I earn more than 20% of that as a lorry driver, I don’t think so.

I’d rather the players got a bigger share of the tv and ad money than the execs who offer even less to society.

Agree that Alves will struggle until he can show he is able to shake off his injury issues. Braybrooke is 100% demanding 20k min to sign a new deal.  Joseph has had a good campaign in the lower leagues and another with us will mean he takes the same view as sammy. I’m not sure when his deal expires but if he’s a free agent next summer then that raises the likelihood. At this time he’s unable to negotiate at the same level as Braybrooke. Whilst we are a league 1 team, no agent views us as such because the assumption is that we will be promoted within next two seasons and our budget is a championship scale.

Maybe I’m naive but Braybrooke demanding £20,000 when made less than 50 senior appearances in L2, seems hyperbole at best.

Maybe if we get promoted to the Championship and he was one of our stand out players, but even then £20k would be on the higher side for the league?
