CloudFox Posted 29 August Posted 29 August Nervous about this one. Sounds like MK's style is the exact type that will **** us up. Really, really hoping for a win and to put some doubts on ice. 2
Foxes96 Posted 29 August Posted 29 August Wonder who’s going by to be left out today still?? Hamza? Mavididi? Faes? Okoli? Souttar?
Pita Posted 29 August Posted 29 August If we play the standard Martin ball we will be in trouble. Just play like Tuesday game.
Ric Flair Posted 29 August Posted 29 August My guess at the team is McCarthy Joseph Souttar Thomas McFarlane Page Braybrooke Burns Chaplin Alves Bristric 2
Muzzy_no7 Posted 29 August Posted 29 August Warnes sides are very much usually a long ball, hit the channels and press so this is bound to cause us some serious issues. Even though the pitch is the same type is ours it’s nowhere near as maintained and sometimes does get a lot of criticism. Interesting to see how they’ve set it up knowing we keep it on the floor and they’re the complete opposite.
Pliskin Posted 29 August Posted 29 August (edited) We just won’t cope, as many have said their style of play is everything we can’t handle, or should I say Russel Martin’s football can’t handle. This project will just go the same way as it did at Rangers for him. The best we can hope for is a draw, can’t see us winning. Edited 29 August by Pliskin

Maybe Okoli. I'd love Kangasniemi to play, but think maybe it's a bit early for him. Going to be a rough old game.

Going to be a rough old game. Okoki is injured. Souttar’s partner will be Aluko, Thomas or Kangasniemi. I suspect it will be Aluko or Thomas, but just wondering whether he might go for Kangasniemi‘s height given MK Don’s propensity to ping crosses in
Tuna Posted 29 August Posted 29 August Hoping for the best, but fearing the worst with this one. They sound difficult and we are a fledgling team playing an unsuitable, overcomplicated style of football. Basically, need to be on point up top and make no mistakes at the back. Tough.

I think that is how I feel. Ipswich game could be false hope and we return to type for this one. Be telling on the lineup today.
FoxesWalk Posted 29 August Posted 29 August 3-1 defeat, 2 goals gifted to them. Reid to miss a sitter. 1

LichesterRedSoxSoccerBall Posted 29 August Posted 29 August I hope we get the ball in their net more times that they get in ours. 1 1
HankMarvin Posted 29 August Posted 29 August So depressing reading people fearing the worst playing against teams that were in the 4th division last season. 1
lcfc81 Posted 29 August Posted 29 August It a big game certainly. We will see if Russell Martin has learnt from the Burton game and the Ipswich game. Ipswich was much improved and hopefully this is recognised. I am hoping some of those who got a chance at Ipswich start today, but also we tweak our style more in line with what we saw at Ipswich. The sooner we get out of the mindset we are better than the teams we are facing and we will over-ride them with our style the better. We need to adapt our tactics to the teams we play because all that really matters this season is results. Personally I am longing for the day we are more explosive in attack, even if it at the cost of some possession stats. 1

I would be quite happy with this team if we put the new Finnish CB in ahead of Thomas or Souttar (longer term). We might have to suck up some mistakes to start due to the youth we have in the team, however it feels like it is a team to get behind longer term.

I suspect this game is closer to what he's used to than some others might be. I'd also be using McFarlane at LB. Again, for his height and physical presence. He seemed pretty comfortable in his heading challenges at Ipswich. Edited 29 August by Bablemikey
Chairman of the Bored Posted 29 August Posted 29 August Can I just say, I loathe FC Franchise. I'm still on the 'you shouldn't be in the league' camp. Having said they've added a few big units to their squad (Goode, Nombe) who will trouble us without a physical presence at the back. I fear the worst. 1

lanefox Posted 29 August Posted 29 August (edited) The past couple of seasons it was Ayew starting , now it's Bobby Reid we'll never learn Bristric is only going to get better and better with more minutes Edited 29 August by lanefox 2
