If you look at the linked Bristol forum post you’ll see he well liked by most and they probably expected to another Championship club. Some even put him ahead of Adebayo, who with his injuries and inconsistency seems about right!

Just getting promoted is the key that is what we need to do, I don't have much hope under Aiyawatt that we will be more than a lower end championship club under his tenure going forwards, if the club gets sold maybe we can entertain being a promotion candidate at that level and premier league aspirations...

As I've said before, I don't actually buy in to this myth that dropping down a level makes a consistently low scoring player suddenly productive. 

 

If Emil Riis dropped right down to, say, Northern Premier League level then I don't doubt he'd be so many levels above that he really would stand out. 

 

But it's rare that players drop a division in England and go from being consistently average/poor to all of a sudden finding their level and being prolific. 

 

It'll obviously make a difference that he'd be moving from playing for mid table clubs that, particularly at Preston, largely surrender possession to one with aspirations to be top that control the game. 

 

But we don't exactly create myriad chances for our forwards do we? 

 

A lot of people (myself included I'll admit) fell for the trap of thinking Daka and Iheanacho would really thrive dropping to a lower league but it didn't magically up their numbers. 

 

I don't think there's a level of professional football in England that Emil Riis could go to and score a lot of goals. He's just not that kind of player. We'll have to hope that he's good enough at holding up the ball and bringing others in to play that he's a net gain for us anyway.

 

But given his assist return is also poor and we strongly lack goal scoring attacking midfielders to play off him other than Chaplin who is physically ****ed then I'm pretty nervous if this is who we're targeting. 

 

No one on the team is a stand out goal scorer unless Bristric clicks and Martin does not seem instantly drawn to him.

League One would suit him more imo, it’s more suited to a player of his profile, I expect him to get double figures not 20 goals plus but I think 15 is a reasonable target.

You'd think people would wise up given the club has continually dropped like a stone, got worse year on year, and players signed 'for the premier league' like Daka, Ayew, Skipp, Okoli et al have all gotten worse, not improved.

How do you no it will suit him more? The Bristol City fans said he didn't look interested a lot of the time for them. Why will that change here?
