Warren O’Hora joins on 3 year deal - Official

Based on his Hibs performances I think O’Hora will be fine.

He was well though of at Hibs - a leader and decent on the ball - not sure if he needs time to settle,  as well as with his new team mates.

Not writing him off but the standard in Scotland is absolutely awful. Players who can't hack it at League 2 level go there and are great. You'll occasionally get one outside of the Old Firm who's any decent but it's total pot luck. Even then, those 2 are a shadow of what they were

There aren’t many centre halves that are going to be strong, good in the air, defensively solid as well as be able to pick out short creative passes under pressure. 
 

His assists should be attributed to RM and his masochistic style

His mistakes have not come under pressure though.

 

They've both been from very slow defensive build-up play when he's had plenty of time on the ball and just made 2 very poor passing options. 

 

I dread to think how many assists he'll makes under pressure.

Remember Jonny Evans first start for Leicester under Rodgers. It was newly promoted Wolves and he had a bit of a horror start at the KP though we won the game 2-1, Maddison free kick among that. After that inauspicious start he settled down pretty well and had a good stint for a couple of seasons. Hoping the same for WOH. Yes not in the same league as JE but we’re now League 1 !!

True… but that’s another type of pressure for a traditional defender, standing with the ball at your feet waiting for a pass to make itself available. As an ex centre half I hated the ball at my feet!!

I’m cautious about any centre backs looking good trying to play the Martin way. Elite teams and players can get away with it but we are not. 
 

I don’t want to judge the players as being crap as if O’Hora was playing a simplified game, he might be quite steady.

Evans had spent a career playing at the top level.

 

It was pretty easy to cut him some slack.  
 

This bloke has given 2 goals away in two games and looks slower than Jacob Laurson.

Lad has some schooling to do....only two balls lost to apparent inability to dribble past a League 1 player. Remember, Faes scored 2 for Liverpool in one match. That IS seamanship! This ain't nothin'.

I'm not being reactionary but the last 2 goals have been down to him.

Will be interesting to see how he does here. It's never a good thing for a side to constantly chop and change their defence but we have so many options at CB that players cannot afford to under perform and expect to keep their place. 

 

So far this season both Okoli and Souttar have struggled, although Souttar did improve only to then be hideous again vs Stockport. Faes is Faes and O'Hora has already shown a few loose moments.

 

Poor Ilari Kangasniemi who all the football hipsters think is destined to go right to the top and he's got this lot in his way. On one hand you'd say it won't be difficult for him to get a chance and keep it but wouldn't surprise me if despite how many mistakes the senior defenders in front of him make, he won't get a run of games.

 

Anyway, rant over. Hopefully O'Hora settles in, surely one of Martin's past favourites will actually look like they can play his football?

Not being confrontation at all as I agree your post but when did Souttar improve - when was that? He was ****ing awful against Oxford the game before Stockport and has stank the place out all season

MK Dons and Plymouth he was much improved, but from a very low baseline.
