Quietly excited about this lad. Think he'll be really steady. Feels like a good signing.

Yeah I get that vibe too. Should just slot in.

i wonder how Kangasniemi is with this signing. I know he’s young but for all the talk of him choosing us over others for game time, I hope we’ve not pissed him off already…

I assume most of the signings probably  thought  they'd be in the first 11.Lets see how Martin balances  this out ,could make or break him and our season.

He'll definitely get a chance. It's a long season & I'd be amazed if Souttar stays fit.

If Souttar stays fit and plays like he did on Tuesday he will be gone in January.

Good point. He definitely needs a run of games to convince a potential buyer.

As we all know, his injury record isn't great. Hopefully he gets a break (no bones, obviously !).

"I despise losing games". That'll do for me lad, get stuck in.

Facebook will hate that comment.

I think he’ll be fine. He’s 19 and moving from a different league and will need to be integrated.

We have had to act without knowing who else is going due to other leagues windows being open. Hopefully we can ship out Faes and Okoli and if not, at least terminate Faes’ contract with the view to Okoli going in January or next summer. Souttar is also unlikely to be here longer term and Nelson is out of contract next summer. So the likelihood is next summer, our centre back options are O’Hora, Kangasniemi and Gray. Suddenly not looking stacked.

In terms of this season, Souttar, O’Hora will likely be first choice, Kangasniemi should be next in line as he integrates and Thomas as an option there, Gray if needed and bin Faes and Okoli even if they are still here.

I think it's sensible recruitment ahead of time, similarly with Kangasniemi. For a change we're actually planning for Souttar leaving in January when the clubs that didn't quite bite might well need to.

It's the biggest thing that's been missing for the last 2-3 years, a real will to win. A lot of the previous players

just didn't seem at all bothered if they lost, or when they conceded a goal.

I like that interview, sounds like a good character and he means what he says unlike Coady where it was all guff.

I think as others have alluded to there seems to have been a drive to recruit some players with actual leadership qualities. O’Hora, Lundstram, Chaplin and Burns will all be great for driving standards as well as the experience the youth players can utilise. Genuinely feels really promising, look to have a strong and balanced squad.

It feels like they're the real deal as opposed to the James Maddison/Conor Coady leadership style of "open my mouth and hope people like what they hear".
