Has Martin turned the corner and we should support him?

Starts the same team 3 games in a row but one goal has made him lose composure. I'm certain Page would have done better than Smallbone that half and there's no reason to ever bring Burns on.

Think today we were as good as Luton if not better but the individual Okoli mistake really cost us. Again I want him out and think he has cost us several points this year, just not sure today was him. Think for me it’s moreso you can afford a today if you don’t also have an Oxford and Peterborough on the record

True but unfortunately, we do. And that's down to Martin and his crap system and players that can't play that way.

I can't believe this thread even exists. Did anybody actually think Herr Cabbage had turned a corner? He is a total fraud. Mid/Lower table League 2 coach at best!

Couldn’t agree more, but that is my distinction personally for wanting him gone. Think there’s  a difference between that and anger at him specifically for today

RvN didn’t have that so when the story broke about the training ground unrest it had a slant that he was partly at fault. 

RvN was trying to implement discipline at the training ground too, but it was framed as him being unreasonable. That’s the difference that client journalism makes.

Great post. A team has to learn to work through problems. I thought at HT that it was well within us, and would've been a good exercise, had they found a way..

 

The problem is, the manager has it seems an odd eye for a player. He seems to begrudge the younger players playing well. And any mistake costs them their place (whereas Thomas is allowed catastrophe week after week, year after year without reproach) .

I honestly think we need a few games with his favourites all playing 90mins the keeper, Thomas, o Hora, Smallbone, burns, Chaplin, Cullen, 4 stone Bob ....it's perhaps the humiliation kink he and the players and the club needs

I simply didnt understand the insistence on playing Okoli.  Okoli was ok at getting his body in the way against Doncaster but he was awful at everything else. There was no pressure from Bromley so that made everyone look good. But its baffling Russell stuck with him and its cost us today as its obvious what is going to happen if he gets pressed - hes been a disaster waiting to happen. Its not as if Okoli was instrumental to making this system work. Luton were the better team in that first half but Okolis mistake knocked the stuffing out of us.

So...... we all know that Martin is not what we need but until we get rid of the Rudkin and his Siamese twin we might as well stick with him  ..... they'll only employ another tippy tappy merchant.

We need to focus on getting the incompetent hierarchy out first .... Bottom is just throwing scapegoats in to divert attention from the real problem which is him.

Just seen this and made a reference to it elsewhere.

 

Luton are a strong team at this level even if they have had a slower start to the season. In other circumstances, it could be a fixture in the season where you accept it’s a tough one and that points will be lost 
 

But when you get getting turned over with ease by Burton, Oxford and Peterborough at home, coming away with 0/9 points and a -7 goal difference, you can’t really just shrug off other games if there is any ambition left around the club. 
 

Then again, we aren’t good enough to compete with the likes of Burton, Oxford and Peterborough so the expectation probably does just need to be avoid relegation. Anything much more, top half, playoffs etc seems very unrealistic.

Against a poor Bromley side it looked promising. But failing to freshen things up from the start against a reasonable Luton side in difficult weather didn’t help IMO. By the end of the game Leicester had gone from 3 central defenders to one with Okoli dropped and of course our main defensive midfielder was also  off. No particular surprise when we conceded late on. So I’ve no idea what the plan is for Tuesday but this week is absolutely vital.

The 3 at the back was more desperation luck rather than judgement, so no wonder every decision around it is more dice rolls, same team again after having the same fatigue issue earlier in the season screams this wasnt a well considered tactical shift, it was a complete last chance dice roll to save his job, it worked so hes just trotting it out until it doesnt. He is just winging it now, but still dead set on finding a way to incorporate his football, even after seeing all the evidence he could that it doesnt work.

 

We are also bottom 3 in clearances, interceptions and blocks. The defenders just dont/cant defend, crazy that as a defender with limited technical ability himself he coaches defenders to be creative midfielders.

 

And I have seen people saying it wasnt him, it was the players, in isolation perhaps, 4 wins in 11, repeated mistakes over and over again. Its always someone or something else's fault with him, the same everywhere he goes.
