no he didnt , he made a comment;

how much is it to get into filbert way these days? who knows?

a dig at the ticket policy this season.

i guess the mercury must be wrong because you have said it is a non story :P which is why tim davies was defending the pricing policy as best he could.

TD had to respond. I still say it's a non-story, Silke has to fill up a few column inches somehow. Good luck to the club being innovative in trying to sell tickets, that's their job. I would rather they did that than sitting on their hands wishing people to attend games. If people want to find the price for a game they can try something really difficult like e-mailing or 'phoning the club or logging on to the website. The club seem to be damned if they do and damned if they don't.

i do blame the club.

they got the pricing policy wrong which has lead to giving freebies away etc., which in turn has upset some fans. most poeple wouldnt mind if it was a one season abberation but they had a problem with justifying the policy last season so they are either not learning or the person in charge of setting the policy for the season isnt so hot in this aspect of their job.

A reliable source in a very expensive resort in cyprus has just called me and said

"Milans in the bar he asked if it was possible for him to have the radio tuned into RADIO LEICESTER"

you see they are a few days behind in cyprus and well they are only just getting the MONDAY Night phone in..

once he heard the inbreds talking about CITY and how they dont like the old 'gold' away kit and that Kisanorbo was being played out of position (he should be in midfield) ranted MILAN....bring back levein

He then threw his whisky across the bar and said..... Dirty Leicester I'm never going there...... CLOUGHIE was right all they do is make jumpers and socks.. Mind you I like the pork pies at Christmas

You heard it first here..........

Wasn't Silke's point mainly that football as a whole is overpriced? To remain competative we can't lower prices to the extent of some other weekend attractions (bowling, cinema, swimming as quoted in the article), but at the same time the higher prices are driving fans away, especially now there is much more to do with your free time and we're not doing well on the pitch. Football itself has to change, not just LCFC.

Anyway, back to Milan (who may raise ticket prices when/if he comes anyway!).... :D

Let's put it this way - if he comes ( and I think it would be a good thing overall if he did take over LCFC ) the ticket prices would not stay the same or go down. :)

I'm sure he will, but lets face it, if he brings in some players who can play to complement our extremely talented youngsters, and a decent manager, then Fans will pay more.

Former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric claims there is a "50-50" chance of him buying Leicester City. Mandaric cut his ties with Pompey recently after selling the club to millionaire Alexandre Gaydamak.

Mandaric has rejected approaches from Bournemouth and Millwall but said: "If I go back into British football, Leicester would be on my radar.

"I would say it's 50-50 Leicester. I'm not ruling it out. But there are a lot of things to unfold."

Mandaric added: "They are a good club. They have been in the Premier League for six of the past 10 seasons. They have a nice stadium and good support levels. Even last season they averaged more than 20,000.

"On a scale of one to 10, it's an eight I will be back in English football. On the same scale, it would be an eight or a nine that I would go to a Championship club."

Mandaric admitted: "I want to repeat the experience I had at Portsmouth somewhere else. The club I went to would have to be right for me. And I would have to be right for them.

"It would have to be the perfect fit both ways - that's exactly what happened at Pompey, where the supporters always trusted me and never suspected me of a different agenda. They knew I was honest.

"But nothing is there yet. I'm still resting after the emotion of leaving Pompey. I want to be left alone for the moment, and people respect that.

"Am I ready for a new challenge yet? No I'm not ready.

"The earliest I could get involved is before the January transfer window - to have half a year in readiness for the following year. If it wasn't then, it would be at the start of next season."

Mandaric is wary of alienating Portsmouth supporters if he were to buy another club.

He said: "If I have any second thoughts, it's because I wonder if Pompey fans would forgive me.

"But there's nothing to forgive. I have done the job for the club's wonderful supporters. So I should be free to go somewhere else.

"I've had some fantastic letters from Pompey fans wishing me all the best in whatever I do next."

Don't say that, I was all exicted for a bit :(

Honestly, I don't think MM would look into the groundshare if he was to buy, the advantage to LCFC was that it would provide investment and stop the interest repayments, however in the long-term it would make us a less attractive prospect, if MM wanted to sell us on one day then he'd want the stadium to be part of the deal so he could get more money out of whoever comes next. And we wouldn't need the investment anymore as he'd (presumably) take care of that.

poeple would have hope though , can be a mighty powerful incentive ;)

at present those that continue to go just hope we win our next match :)

though you do get the odd one or two that enjoy bleak outlooks , fighting against the odds and all that  and then you get the alcy's who put up with the footie inbetween staying non sober :o:ph34r:

Generally I think the club have been quite innovative lately over ticketing.

Sadly their efforts are not made easier by the negative approach on the field. It really is a team effort. You might do lots of things to get extra bums on seats but they won't stick around if there's nothing exciting to watch.

In some ways I think it would benefit prospective managers to get experience behind the scenes at football clubs before they are appointed. Find out what the problems are for the PR people, the club salesmen, and the ticket office, those seeking funding and even the receptionist.

Then they might better appreciate what's required to make a football club work successfully.

I'm not just talking about Kelly. Levein was the same as are other managers at other clubs. They just seem to ignore their duty to the paying public in their quest for points by any means whatsoever.

Three points for a win was meant to encourage more adventure but the fear factor overrides even this incentive.

But gates at most clubs are dropping alarmingly and perhaps a further rethink is needed. Perhaps something like a bonus point for every 10 goals scored.

It is not even that Leicester doesn't have attacking footballers. We just don't pick enough of em for our team, or enough constructive back-up players.

Times are changing. The more players you have who are comfortable and effective on the ball the better.

Right! New plan, lets all write letters fom "Pompey Fans", telling Milan we wish him the best of luck with his New Venture and have no ill will towards Leciester, but my god we'd be upset if he bought any other club, anywhere, ever!

We can go down to Pompey for the weekend and post them!

This is it now boys, our whole future depends on one man’s decision from a sun bed in Cyprus as to whether he’s going to save us. If this doesn’t happen we might as well give up. We must succeed at all costs!!!!
