Ric Flair Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Glad to hear it. Except among the many thousands of words which the pro-Mandaric brigade have posted on here and elsewhere, not ONE single shred of evidence has been produced to indicate that he will be able to meet such basic criteria. And not one single shred of evidence has been produced to indicate that he couldn't meet the basic criteria to take this club forward. And let's be honest, it wouldn't take alot to take this club forward considering where it's currently at. Mandaric has an excellent track record in football, whether you like it or not. Something Tim Davies, Ronald McDonald and several others at this club hadn't got before they came to this club and when they leave this club it's likely they'll have a piss poor record in football to boot.
ThurmastonFox Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Wow, this must have been the longest thread ever on something which has no concrete basis. From what I understand, all the clubs that are in a similar position to us are excited because they believe that Mandaric may be coming to their club. He says the same thing to different local reporters, who then blazen headlines exclaiming he's coming. Hmmm. OK, reality check. He will probably go to a club in England, who is in the championship. But there are several clubs which meet the size and potential he would be interested in. If he does come, great, give him a chance to spend the money and see where we are. If he doesn't, how many here will feel foolish for being so excited about a press rumour???

It's come down to getting our hopes up on a few newspaper articles suggesting he's interested in us. That just shows what this club has become over the past few years and reason our current board need getting rid of.

If it's the article I read, he was talking about Brum's ticket prices, and he said he didn't know what City charged! Of course, being a journo, he doesn't have to shell out for his tickets.
davieG Posted 6 October 2006 Author Posted 6 October 2006 From Here Milan: 50/50 chance I'll takeover Foxes MILAN MANDARIC today described his chances of buying Leicester City as '50/50'. The former Pompey chairman could even be at The Walkers Stadium by December. Mandaric has already had discussions with the midlands club. The 68-year-old has declined approaches from League One sides Bournemouth and Millwall. But he has aspirations to buy a Championship club he feels he can turn into an established Premiership outfit – the trick he performed at Pompey. Mandaric, on a break in Cyprus after resigning as Pompey chairman 10 days ago, told The News: 'If I go back into British football, Leicester would be on my radar. 'They are a good club. They have been in the Premier League for six of the past 10 seasons. They have a nice stadium and good support levels. Even last season they averaged more than 20,000. 'On a scale of one to 10, it's an eight I will be back in English football. 'On the same scale, it would be an eight or a nine that I would go to a Championship club. 'I would say it's 50/50 Leicester. I'm not ruling it out. But there are a lot of things to unfold. 'I'm 68 years old and still want to do it. I want to repeat the experience I had at Portsmouth somewhere else. 'The club I went to would have to be right for me. And I would have to be right for them. 'It would have to be the perfect fit both ways – that's exactly what happened at Pompey, where the supporters always trusted me and never suspected me of a different agenda. They knew I was honest. 'But nothing is there yet. I'm still resting after the emotion of leaving Pompey. I want to be left alone for the moment, and people respect that. 'Am I ready for a new challenge yet? No I'm not ready. 'The earliest I could get involved is before the January transfer window – to have half-a-year in readiness for the following year. If it wasn't then, it would be at the start of next season.' The reaction of Pompey fans to Mandaric's next step provides his only doubts. He said: 'If I have any second thoughts, it's because I wonder if Pompey fans would forgive me. 'But there's nothing to forgive. I have done the job for the club's wonderful supporters. So I should be free to go somewhere else. 'I've had some fantastic letters from Pompey fans wishing me all the best in whatever I do next.' Both Bournemouth and Millwall want Mandaric (right). He said: 'Bournemouth are a nice club, and the people are nice, but I don't think it's quite right for me. 'I understand there isn't much love between Pompey and Millwall fans, so I couldn't go there.' Mandaric will watch Pompey next when they visit Chelsea in 15 days.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 So much for it being "a rumour thats never going to happen." Can you hear the Ultra sing noooo noooo.
The People's Hero Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Ultra will be crying in to his microwave meal for one tonight.
Dr The Singh Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006    I can live with the current muppets until January, 2007 will be a good year!!
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Ultra will be crying in to his microwave meal for one tonight. Tesco's finest Samon Lasange.
The People's Hero Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Will we see any self preservation tactics from the board/foxes trust though? *worries*
Dr The Singh Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Tesco's finest Samon Lasange. Is Ultra some kind of 'crowned' prince, that he can afford Tesco's Finest!!! I was thinking more Tesco's basics shepturds pie!!!
Jon the Hat Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Will we see any self preservation tactics from the board/foxes trust though? *worries* The FT must do what their members tell them! If you want a say in that join now! Might be a windfall in it too! To avoid spoiling tactics from the board someone to get in touch with Milan's representatives and find out if he wants a show of support from the Fans - a few thousands shouting "Board Out" would no doubt focus the mind. I have to say I'm coming around to the idea that we need this.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Is Ultra some kind of 'crowned' prince, that he can afford Tesco's Finest!!! I was thinking more Tesco's basics shepturds pie!!! He's going to treat himself....had some bad news today.
Babylon Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Fook me.... That's good news for the start of the weekend.
ThurmastonFox Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Jeez, again a little perspective. He has said that he has held talks with the club, but all the reports that I have read the club say no talks have taken place. Even the mighty he says that the chances are only 50/50. Let this thread die til we have proper confirmation. What next: Mandaric likes Red Leicester cheese: Cue 1 (maybe 2) hyperactive posters to declare that Mandaric is coming to Leicester and will make us wear red home kits, so lets start a demonstration now. Come on, chill out. If it happens, it happens. If not, we keep this ol' shite.
Master Fox Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Ok, Milan has now publicly stated he is very interested in the takeover of LCFC! We’re number one target on the radar after some initial discussions. There is absolutely no reason why this shouldn't happen unless the current board or the FT ends up wrecking it for everyone by rejecting any offer. Dear Milan enjoy your holiday in Cyprus and when you return every Leicester city fan (Apart From Ultra) will be laying out the red carpet for your arrival down Filbert Way.

Ric Flair Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 This new revelation reminds me of Happy Gilmore when Happy learns how to putt. Ultra has took on the role as Shooter McGavin and it's just stepped up a gear!.

That gives us a much higher chance than I ever thought, nothing wrong with being optomstic and a bit of speculation. If we don't discuss things like this whats the point in the board?

I think the board are due some credit here - they have been speaking to MM, and may even have initiated it, but because they haven't been shouting from the rooftops they have come in for criticism for apparently doing nothing. Confidential negotiations should remain confidential. I think some posters on here owe an apology or two to the board, and maybe even the Foxes Trust, because if they were in the loop they would have been bound to confidentiality. I'm not holding my breath, tho'.............
