Monk Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Yes. It's lovely. (He might be reading this.) I lived down there for a a year, and have to say the city is a OK there are bits which are really nice. Gunwharf, port Solent, etc Fratton is a hole though. And thats being generous.
Finnegan Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Pompey, my lovely Pompey, you make me happy, when skies are grey?
davieG Posted 6 October 2006 Author Posted 6 October 2006 Doesn't the Royal Navy call it 'Dog Shit Ciy' I thought that was Leicester Like most big metropolitan areas they generally have good parts but all in my experience have parts you're only likely to be found dead in, obviously some more than others. I don't believe Portsmouth is better or worse than most.

Monk Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 why, how ofted do you 'VISIT' the sea cadets in Leicester. Where do they train? down by the canal???
davieG Posted 6 October 2006 Author Posted 6 October 2006 why, how ofted do you 'VISIT' the sea cadets in Leicester. Where do they train? down by the canal??? Not since I were a wee lad, but I have passed them by on a number of ocassion when taking a stroll down the canal.
Jon the Hat Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 I've got no problem with Portsmouth, my dad is from Portsmouth, and we had a boat down there for years when I was a kid.
lookwhaticando Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 You've never visited the Sea Cadets near Ross Walk then? Having never lived in the city itself, and not having lived in the county since I was 2 has made that a bit tricky.
davieG Posted 6 October 2006 Author Posted 6 October 2006 Having never lived in the city itself, and not having lived in the county since I was 2 has made that a bit tricky. That's a pretty lame excuse if you ask me, people come from all over the World to visit our fine City and make an immediate bee line for the Sea Cadets.
ithuriel Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 somebody asked what was printed in the mercury earlier in the week. on the back page the mercury reported that season ticket holders were unhappy with free tickets being given away , pricing etc., and in a very large column gary silke said basically its all a bit shambolic and he said that football clubs have to now look at their pricing structure compared to other leisure activities. he used a brum ticket to illustrate this. the mercurys back page headline; VALUED: citys chief executive says season-ticket holders get best deal as he defends pricing DAVIES: our core fans come first! gary silkes column headline; clubs are out of touch on prices i cant type it all out , ive only got full use of my left hand at present

Dr The Singh Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 dirty basterd. Yeah, i'm happy about the news regarding MM, but that's going abit too far!!!
Monk Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 dirty basterd. I'm excited about milan too, but not THAT excited
Surreal Madrid Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 somebody asked what was printed in the mercury earlier in the week. on the back page the mercury reported that season ticket holders were unhappy with free tickets being given away , pricing etc., and in a very large column gary silke said basically its all a bit shambolic and he said that football clubs have to now look at their pricing structure compared to other leisure activities. he used a brum ticket to illustrate this. the mercurys back page headline; VALUED: citys chief executive says season-ticket holders get best deal as he defends pricing DAVIES: our core fans come first! gary silkes column headline; clubs are out of touch on prices i cant type it all out , ive only got full use of my left hand at present But Gary Silke said, if I'm correct, he didn't know what our prices are. By the way, I'm a season ticket holder, and I applaud the promotions, some of which benefit season ticket holders, or friends of season ticket holders ( like the free Colchester tickets given to people who went to Hereford ). I think it's a bit of a non-story to be honest, our ticket prices compare favourably with most other Championship clubs.
ithuriel Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 crap. im so innocent i forgot what this place can be like i cant even use my right hand for erm at present. its cold showers for the moment

I think it's a bit of a non-story to be honest, our ticket prices compare favourably with most other Championship clubs. I don't think there is any relevance in comparing them with other Championship Clubs, we are not in competition with them. As a club we need to focus on LCFC and do what is right for this club and it's fans. I care not what the other clubs charge (well only for away games) only that our prices should be set for us be that dearer, cheaper or as they are.

Louise Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Ooh, I do love a bit of drama, and this looks like it's heading for a big blowout. If Milan doesn't come here, after saying it's 50/50, the fans are going to want to know why, it could still end up being the end of the current board just because everyone will have had a wiff of something better. If he does come then, well...

Manwell Pablo Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 At least it's something to talk about bearing in mind we have no game for 8 days.
