You would hope they are starting to love us more. We are developing a leg-spinning all-rounder, who can flamboyantly bat in the top three and a giant left-arm fast bowler, who can break partnerships and smash tails. These are surely two of the holy grails of world cricket right here in LCCC. What else do we need to do? A 14 year batman who can bat at a strike rate of 200?

This is true. I think Key likes us but I doubt he’ll be around for long after the winter.

Only half a season but so pleased. The club have tried really hard to improve in first class cricket. The Kolpak days to being virtually a youth team to this- a mix of good pros, good youngsters and good overseas signings.

 

Obviously off-field stuff hasn't been great but seven excellent games so far. Long may it continue.

I’m not a big rugby fan, so City and County are my great loves. City’s demise really hurts me more than it should. County’s incredible team ethic this season has been joyful to behold, and reminds me sporting success is cyclical for teams like ours. County this season remind me good days will return for City.

I think it's done and dusted. 217, 167, 225, 188, 221 are the points totals for 2nd place for the last 5 seasons (excluding COVID) we are currently on 139 even the bottom sides tend to average 8 points a game so even if we dropped to bottom of the table form we would still finish on 197 which might be enough.

We've won of our games whilst the weather has been good... it will be tough to put consecutive results together for anyone playing catch up when the rain inevitably arrives. 

 

1 win and 4 draws will likely be more than enough for the title.

Derbyshire are closing in on Kent. That would leave the most unfancied 3 teams ahead of the pack. You'd think one of Derbyshire and Glamorgan would tail off at some point.

 

Kent, Lancs and Middlesex pretty much out of it already is great

Green will be heading back to Somerset now, Handscomb taking a break whilst the blast is on. I imagine a few will get snapped up for the hundred this year.

I believe Handscomb will be back for the next Championship games, Hundred will only affect the One Day Cup.

 

Green is the worry- replace him with Mike and we lose a lot of control/pressure, bringing Wright back in weakens the batting depth. 

 

Hopefully we try and resign him later in the summer.
