Would be stupid to let Davis go. Just trim the squad to free up wages to get a couple of quality, experienced county batsman.

That situation there with Rhodes is completely representative of how poorly organised and planned it is behind the scenes.

S.Evans

Azad

Patel

Ackermann

Hill

Mike

Swindells

Parkinson

Barnes

Davis

Wright

 

Steel, Ahmed, Kimber, Walker.

 

Coincidentally that's a first XI with four others and of those four the latter two would have a lot to prove next season. Scriven perhaps too given we've seen nothing of him.

 

Then hopefully two quality overseas and two or three good county players can be found to push the more average of those in that XI into fringe/rotation/backup roles which is really where several should be.

 

Welch, Lilley, Rhodes, A.Evans, Bowley, Griffiths, Sakande and Bates could all go and not be missed I think so agreed with graceroad above. Wright retiring could be a risk.

I'd still like to see Steel get a good run opening in all formats. Evans and Azad to similar in pace and I consider Patel a good number 3

Steel doesn't have the technique to open in cc. Nowhere near enough movement imo.

I appreciate what your saying I do. But Evans has no foot movement and has a major issue with the short ball. Swindells also zero foot movement. Which is odd for a keeper batsmen. They both play. 

 

But I agree little foot movement. . I would say his head is at least aligned a bit more. Swindells. It's a miracle he scores runs with his technique. 

 

But you may be right mate. Take your point.

They had only sold a couple of thousand tickets. Her management have had to cancel concerts elsewhere though, in part it's due to the economic downturn. Organisation behind the scenes at County was not good, people not taking responsibility for their roles, lack of clarity etc.

Nabbing Ali and Ed Barnard from Worcs. Going for Mahmood from Lancs too. 

 

Worcs had slowed down that talent drain in recent years but looks like its back.
