Seen all three days and we are a better side than they are. Their bowling doesn't even have potential at least ours has that!

Parky was a threat!

Can't get a result but we should believe in ourselves a bit more.

Normally agree with your posts Cakey but Hunt and Crocombe are both 20 and Coles 18 all have great potential while we have Wright very much in decline Mike who gets smashed round the park and Mulder and Barnes who are average at best. Then put Garton Robinson and maybe Archer in the mix they are miles ahead of us.

Great performance from the top order and should at least stop the run of defeats. Needs to be put in context with the pitch and the opposition attack though, which is also missing their captain, who bowls useful, nagging medium pace.

Both Ackermann and Mulder have hit personal FC best scores in the same game, Ackers going past the 196* he made against Middlesex in June 2018 and Mulder, the 146 against Knights in January 2019.

4 career bests! I'm still gutted that Patel didn't get his ton!

750 followed by ASLOS, I would think. That should leave about 60 overs to bowl at them if we go at around 7 an over, which we're doing at the moment.

I’ve only been following county for a few years and I know the pitch is like the A46 but seeing 600+ is mental to me

This is already a record for the 5th wicket.

Highest for any wicket is 390 by Dudleston and Steele in 1979

Highest team total is 701-4 in 1906 against Worcs.

Highest individual score was 309 by HD Ackermann

Top score in the clubs 1st class history is broken

Almost getting silly now, sailed past 200 runs for a single, standard session. I don't know who's feeling worse, the Sussex bowling attack or poor Hassan after his first baller.

Will they bat on after lunch for a 200 target and allow Ackers to go for that 309?

I think so. Still plenty of overs in the day.

5 or 6 overs tops chasing leather seems to be the done thing these days and something their top order wouldn't fancy, especially with Haines missing. Could be a c.215 run lead with about 54 overs to bowl them out.
