Another very comfortable win. You'd think that will be that, as far as promotion is concerned.

Glamorgan will have to do very well to catch us now too. They've still got to play Lancashire, who seem to have their act together now, home and away.

51 points on 3rd with 4 games to go is one hell of a cushion.

Yeah even if Derby get max points, it means if we got 46 they couldn’t catch us. Assuming they won’t get maximum points, one win from the last four will suffice.

Watching Derby this week I’d be amazed if they win even 3 from 4. They’ve punched all season and I don’t think they’ve got a lot more to offer. Promotion seems nigh on certain but we need to win the thing now.

Lancashire are only 4 points behind them to be fair. Although they play Glamorgan next week so one way or another we’ll be ok.

It’s only a shame that our final game of the season is an away one. Let’s hope they can bring it home a week early against Kent 15th-18th September!

It's only down the road at Northampton

Rehan Ahmed, what a player! Anyway, what's the format next year? Heard the divisions are splitting into 3 or something so How's it going to work assuming we get promoted?

Have our members been formally consulted? I know that Essex have sent out a form. There is an interesting debate on the Durham fans forum. Their CEO has spoken out fiercely in favour of change towards the Conference format but there is much discomfort amongst the members. Yes the members have been consulted and we have basically been told the club favour a reduction and that's that same with Notts and Worcester

6 counties have come out against it, I think there’s still 3 to officially declare but if one more disagrees then it’ll stay as it is as it needs 2/3rd’s for a majority

Yep not sure who that 7th county will be though most are adamant about a fixture reduction

I would imagine the ECB would want some kind of elite six (Surrey, Middlesex, Notts, Warks, Lancs and Yorks), intermediate six (Durham, Hampshire, Essex, Somerset, Glamorgan and Gloucs) then the dregs (Derbys, us, Northants, Kent, Sussex and Worcs) followed by some sort of crappy Grand Final or something.

Let's be honest, they'll reduce this to expand the Hundred. That is what they want. Like cutting FA Cup replays for *player welfare" before extra European matches were added.

They want their Hundred franchises as the top tier of red ball cricket as well.

County cricket relegated to a second tier, the big counties happy as they still host the franchises and the small counties paid off the same way they got the Hundred over the line.

The Hundred will soon move to the t20 format also.

Wright back in the squad tomorrow. Hope to see the same team but with Scriven in for Kimber.

A win and we’re virtually there.

Still surprised at the absence of Cox.
