Best goal you ever scored.

time to boast your best goals!

Heres mine;

keeper booted it out to just before half-way line , controlled it on the bounced, flicked it over the midfielders head, came back onto the ball the other side of him, took a touch forward and hit the ball on the volley in the top left of the goal with movement and power from about 25-30 yards. I was just suprised i hit it cleanly to be honest. As i'm a keeper everybody was shocked, no-one more so than me! would have been better if it clipped the cross-bar but hey it'll do!

So come on, lets here your best goal, ever ever ever :D

My fav goal was in a 5 or 6-a-side tourney as I rarely scored goals in 11-a-side as I was more a creator and ball winner. :|

The first was for its quality. A ball played through and I burst through with only the keeper to beat in the short and wide 5-a-side goal (not those hockey style ones). I saw the keeper coming towards the edge of the D to narrow the angle and decided to try an audacious chip and it just snuck in. I got a round of applause from the beer swigging crows as it was one of these big one day events and I must admit that I mentioned it to everyone I knew for the next week. The journey home wasn't so fun for the lads, especially as we finished 4th in a comp and got hammered 6-0 by a combined Spurs and West Ham academy team, blowing all chances of the first prize tour to Holland lol

I`d also like to nominate a pass due to its importance. We were playing in an Elms league over in Picketts Lock. Three 10min games a week for 10 weeks. It was the most professionally run league that I have played in with good refs and admin staff on site along with first aiders etc. It cost about £350 for the season which sounds steep but wasn't spread over 10 weeks and 8 players! Anyway I digress as usual. It was the final week and we needed 3 wins to stand any chance of the title. We won the first two and our main rivals lost a game so it was all on the last game. us 2nd vrs the leaders called something eagles (Cant remember) but it was Eagles from Nigeria and not Crystal Palace lol. It was 0-0 with a few seconds to go and I had the ball rolled out to me by the keeper and thought I`d go for a run. One bloke came towards me and I beat him, another came and I went by him and right in front of me were two team mates, one running left and the other right. I slipped the ball to Andy (known as slug the slimey sod) and he burried it. The ref blew the whistle when they attempted a restart and the title was ours lol

Champions!

BTW has anyone ever played in these one off events run by Elms? They were huge a few years back with one dayers at places like Bisham Abbey, Birmingham and one in Kent.

Tragically, I've played most of my football five-a-side. So it's all about the mazy-runs and little placed finishes, no real spectacular efforts. Never been shy of having a spank from the edge of the area, I remember my first EVER when I was about 13 from about twenty five yards. Haha.

Obviously the cheeky lob that inspired a valiant come-back (we were robbed) in my fellow over-21s has a personal, sentimental meaning. ;)

(TPH was onside.)

the best goal without a doubt i scored was when i lived in Albert Village our local play area was surrounded by a metal fence which was put up by the council to prevent any wayward shots breaking any more windows.

Anyway my mate chipped the ball up to me i controlled it with my chest chipped the ball over one of their defenders and smashed the ball at the goal it went in but got stuck between the railings and we had to pop it to get it out hence the end of the game

Mine was Beckham Gudjohnsen-esque.

Playing for Birstall United under 10's back in 1992 the ball came rolling towards me about 5 yards inside my own half. Being a big tall centre-half my instructions were "if in doubt, kick it out" so I took an almighty swing with my right peg. The ball sailed into the air, bounced right in front of the goalkeeper, over his head and into the net.

I had tears in my eyes. Fantastic stuff. Some cheeky team mate had the gall to call it a fluke. Pah.

In my prime i've scored many a great goal at Saffron Lane!

However my greatest "achievement"is to have scored in matches played with the locals in Malia and Goa!!!! ;)

...Yeah no big deal is it?????

5-a-side at uni. I was on the Right wing at the half-way line. Goalie threw it to me, I flipped the ball up with my left foot. I went over my head, I turned and volleyed it with my right. It flew in passed the goalie's left!!!

Never did anything like it before or since!!!

Versus Harborough, first game of the season. I received the ball from the half way line, ran a few yards, looked up, seen the keepr off his line, and lobbed him, top corner. "Number 1's" debut that was for Sileby :P

In that match i scored 6...went on to score another 3 more the week after, and again i lobbed the keeper from about 40 yards. :P

My best goal was at Filbo, playing a Tiswas team during half time in Alan Woollett's Testimonial.

From a corner kick, an old school mate of mine jumped and headed the ball onto the crossbar, the ball bounced out and started dropping at the edge of the box. I shuffled a bit, and volleyed the ball back towards goal.

It was one of those moments when you know you have just hit the ball oh-so sweetly and it flew...yes, flew into the top left corner.

Even if I say so myself, it was majestic.

Funny, though, I felt too embarrassed to go off on a big celebration run, so just put my arm in the air like it was something I did every day. Wish I'd have milked that a bit more.

Scored a few, my most memorable one was actually just 2 seasons ago in the county cup, did a crunching last gasp tackle deep in our own half, played 3 neat 1-2s with various teamates as we countered, and then scisscor kicking the final return into the net from the edge of the box and landing on about 3 defenders. I initially thought I'd missed the ball at first as I caught it so clean. Class

Best goal was probably playing for Senacre Dolphins (what a name eh?) against South Park Colts in a cup game at age around 15.

We were trailing one nil in the cup (they were a good side) when I scored from just inside our own half (their keeper was one of those who fancied himself as a bit of a sweeper).

He didn't learn his lesson so I must have tried it another 3 or 4 times in the second half. We won that game on penalties.

Thinking about it, back in the day, I used to score a few good goals. I even scored a perfect hat-trick once in a 3-3 draw. I doubt if the standard is anywhere now what some of you lot play though.

I played a season for Maidstone United boys, that was about as good as it got for me.

Best goal? No contest.

Walking home from school, I must have been 12/13 at the time. Had been chewing a bit of Wrigley's for a few hours and it was outstaying it's welcome. As most kids do at that age, everytime you flob a bit of chewy out, you try and latch on to it with a vicious boot as far as you can.

I was ready for the mouth, eye and foot combo. I'd pysched myself up for it, I was walking home with a big crowd, couple of slags on each arm. Knew I had to impress, so I walked forward the crowd gathered. I flobbed it out and struck it sweet with my right peg. The trajectory was spot on, like an arrow. Low and hard, didn't move a muscle. I watched it as it travelled, it kept going, there was a car about 20 yards in the distance probably waiting to pick a kid or two up. I spotted that the passenger side window was slightly open, I mean probably no more than an inch or two down.

It got closer to the car and it still wasn't on the descent, it suddenly dawned on me that this had a chance. A few others had tracked it all the way as well, they were as excited as I was.

BANG.... straight through the smallest gap of the car window you've ever seen. Landed in the lap of some innocent chap waiting for his sprog. He wasn't a happy bunny, out he got. He knew he'd been done, I peeled away arms aloft. The crowd were going wild.

I didn't buy the crisps, Doctor Pepper or sweets all week.

I'd quite simply love that to be true.

Tell me it is true, just with a few embellishments and a bit of Thracian spin. Please?

Well I don't really recall my best goal as it was many moons ago, but I remember 1986 I needed to score 3 goals more than a team mate to win the top goalscorer that year, I scored 3 and my team mate failed to score that was a pretty good day for an eleven year old. On the presentation evening I was given by the man himself jeff astles mexico world cup shirt, which at the time I was dissapointed with (I wanted a big trophy) later on though obviously the shirt was more highly prized but unfortunately I somehow lost it or maybe threw it away, I remember my mum shrinking it in the wash (lol) only now do I realize it might have been worth a few quid, I still have the photo of him handing it to me. Wonder how much it would be worth now especially as the man has passed away...maybe I shouldn't think about it.

I've scored loads of goals in my time playing football but .....

My Best Goal Was ...

My team had a corner, ball got played in then headerd out by the other team straight away, I was around the 35 yard mark on the left flank where the ball fell to me i took a touch with my right knocked it on to my left then hit the ball across goal into the top right hand bag.

The ball got stuck in the triangle thingie.

:D

I have just thought of another fabulous assist. About 16/7 years ago at St Margarets on the Astroturf, in defence I passed the ball sideways and Eddie Dublin, (Dions brother who BTW looked like his twin lol), brught the ball down and smacked it in from about 25 yards.

The bad news was he wasn't :S in my team and he intercepted the pass but the good news is, I marked him well enough to keep the scoreline down to about 8-0 and he only scored about 5.

I'm shit from long range, i'm all about fast feet, taking people on and then placing home.

;)

via Kokopops' knee.

I didn't concede against lildave3!!

Only Jamie, Bert and a Sly own goal (Maybes will have you believe it was his goal).

In fact, I think it was against lildave3 that I tipped it onto the crossbar.

Lovely stuff.
