Started my new job this week. 

 

Went on my first visit in one of our patches. 

 

Was with a white colleague, joint visit with her. 

 

Tenant opens the door, 'you can come in' he says to her. 

Looks and points at me, and says, 'you stay where you are, I'm not having a coloured in my property'. 

 

If Brits (not all, I know), want to be back in the 60s and 70s they've well and truly achieved it.

Sadly, I kind of expect it these days. 

 

I know that doesn't make it right, and probably makes it worse really.

As visible minorities,  you always have some sort of "guard  up" or expectation of that type of behaviour. I see the double looks and stares here or there. Perhaps I shouldn't walk around with my knob hanging out but ffs the boys get hot sometimes Lol

Reminds me of a story I read about the filming of Full Metal Jacket. Kubrick was planning to film some of the Vietnam scenes in North Norfolk and had sourced a few old US army helicopters for the shoot. The production company had phoned up the local police station to tell them to warn the locals they'd be filming at 8am the following Monday but the old boy who took the call either didn't believe it or forgot to pass on the message. Apparently the fisherman and old biddies having their morning showers in the caravan park got quite the shock as two attack helicopters swooped overhead with some extra pointing a sub machine gun toward them.

How old was this cretin?

 

He's probably a refromer and wants all illegals out and obviously you fit the same colour bracket, even though you are born and bred here and are most probably a hundred times more intellectual and given more to society than him or his previous 2-3 generations.

This country really is going backwards and i don't really want my children living here when they are old enough to make their own decisions.

I wouldn't talk to any white people if i had his mentality after being chased, spat at and told to "feck off back to my own county" in the Early 80's.

I'm trying to have a nice birthday lunch before I drive to perform later. Having to listen to a couple spout their filth - apparently it's perfectly OK (of desperate migrants) to say out loud 'I think they should harpoon the lot of them'. 

 

Imagine someone said that about ignorant old white twats.

Sadly, whilst the Media and Reform are currently on a drive to normalise this kind of behaviour this is only going to become more frequent. With 60+% of the voting public willing to put Farage in charge it's clear a lot of people that held their nasty views to themselves are increasingly emboldened to display it for all to see. I even see it in my office at work, some right nasties coming out of the woodwork this year. Sadly another Symptom of Trumps America crossing the pond and the legacy of Boris Johnson. Hate and division is not only on the rise, it's becoming the new normal. 

 

Anyway, sorry to hear this happened to you Stan. It's really not a nice thing to have to experience in 2025.

We visited the National Arboretum in Staffordshire today.

 

It's a really nice set up with unique memorials to all those effected by conflict. A lovely place to pay your respects and have a nice walk around.

I've been. They have a memorial section for emergency workers that have been killed during their service.

 

Sadly ambulanceman Terry Wilkinson is not amongst them. He was shot dead at a siege in Wigston in 1975 whilst trying to push his ambulance into position to provide cover for the police officers being shot at.

Horrible, horrible sight on the motorway home from Liverpool tonight.

 

Traffic came to a standstill suddenly. Few vehicles in front of us started moving into a different lane.

As we did the same, we drove past a terrible scene I'd never wish on anybody as they're driving.

Looked over, and there were a few cars pulled over with their hazard lights on. Just behind them, a body :(  

 

Without wanting to speculate, I can only imagine it may have been someone run over or worse, they jumped from the bridge/gantry that we passed not far from the scene. I cannot get the picture out of my mind of what I saw. It was horrific :(
