My aunty died overnight and my 3 year old daughter broke her elbow yesterday.

Just waiting for the 3rd shitty ****ed up bastard thing to happen now

Latest update on my sons progression.

 

 

Well things are certainly looking positive. Ashton has had 8 private physio sessions and has done brilliant. We can now put him into a standing position and he can play with his toys whilst standing. He still isn't crawling yet but when you put him down for tummy time you can see his legs and bum wanting to move so its all good signs that he will be on the move.

 

I will see if I can attach a photo of him so you can all see how well he is doing. I'm so proud of him.

 

Myself and the wife will be getting the Genetic results next week to see if he got his chromosome disorder directly from either of us. Scary but at least we should hopefully find out exactly what we are dealing with. (A letter we received October last year said he has Chromosome 12p Duplication syndrome, I assume this meeting next week will be the doctor explaining what this actually is and what it may mean for his future). Also Ashton met his speech therapist last week so hopefully her introduction into his busy schedule will start to show improvements in his speech.

 

Some other positives happening for us, I started back at the gym last week as I need to lose weight in order to do my skydive. Got a personal trainer at 4pm today to give me some much needed direction as I keep doing the same 3 or 4 exercises. Would be nice to introduce some new stuff and mix it up a bit.

 

 My daughter also got a lead role with her dance group who are performing CATS in July. So really looking forward to seeing her in that.

 

Taking the kids to Butlins for Feb half term aswel so this year will be a very busy year. Especially for Ashton. Its all hands on deck now with trying to get him on the move. He still brightens up my day. The minute I get in from work his little face and his beaming smile just melts my heart.

 

Im sure there is a better thread to write these updates but as I have put the other updates here I will stick with it.

 

The fact that Leicester's incredible run in the Championship started when Ashton was born the team doing so well coincides with him nicely I think. He must be a lucky omen so if Leicester win the league you can all thank Ashton lol

Didn't get the job I interviewed for last week.  Shame, I was starting to want it as well!

 

I've just been for an interview. Not too sure how it went, I can never gauge. Hoping I get it, mind.

Stressful. At this moment all our systems are down for our Clients. I am not part of the team trying to fix the problem but it is all happening right next to me!  :unsure:

Last exam of 5 today, after having the 4th one 24 hours prior.

 

I'd made a few notes beforehand, but almost all of my revision was in the last 24 hours, and of that time only about 4-5 hours max was actually spent properly revising, and yet somehow it still went really well. Very happy with that, considering it's a module from a different department.

 

The exam yesterday was even better. Much more stressful beforehand, but left the 2 hour exam half an hour early (after finishing with almost an hour to spare, then checking), and VERY confident of getting a good mark.

 

 

Now just need to wait until the 8th to get my results back. :fc:

 

Off for a meal with my other half in a bit to celebrate the end of it, just as soon as he hurries up and decides where he wants to go lol

I lost my other German Shepherd at Xmas, bless her.

Today I took my new pup for her first injection.

Sorry to hear that DT.

It's terrible when you lose your pet.

I had a message to say one of my aunties had passed away. Can't remember seeing her much so she was a stranger to me. Still sad as she was my mum's sister and it comes soon after my stepdad died. Not something she needs to contend with.

Sorry to hear that, Ken. Even if it's not an aunt/uncle you're close to yourself, It's not nice seeing parents have to deal with the ongoing loss of their generation.

 

My Dad was 1 of 8 and is the last one left now, and my 2 uncles on my Mum's side took it hard when she died.

 

At least your Mum has your generation (and friends, hopefully) for support.

Sorry to hear that.  Wonderful dogs.  Still miss our boy after 18 months.  My 6 year old swings between very excited when she sees a GSD to crying at missing Zeke.  Now we are in the new house will be looking at getting a pup later in the year.  Need to find a good breeder locally.
