Derby play a light melodic, sometimes acoustic, but always perfectly arranged pop/rock style with a hint of folk/country (as far as the choice of music instruments is concerned).

"This Is The New You" is a quality album, the new one to come out soon.

Yep i know Blue States, Calexico, Flaming Lips and Patrick Watson!

Cant say ive heard all their music but ive heard of them. Well only The Flaming Lips ive heard.

I used to work in Virgin in Leicester and remember Flaming Lips being in the charts, as there was one particular song that used to get played all the time. Something to do do with robots i think? lol

All this Flaming Lips being an obscure band nonsense! Saw them at DM Uni Student Hall when they supported Mercury Rev and they were easily the best support act I've ever seen, better than Mercury Rev were that night. They had no drummer and Wayne Coyne, the singer, kept beating a huge "Rank Organisation" type gong - crazy! Was just after The Soft Bulletin was released (what an album THAT is!)

What made it weirder still is that I had seen Mercury Rev as the support act for Ride at DM Hall and then they had been the better band. Just shows, what goes around comes around!
