MikeyT Posted 31 January 2008 Posted 31 January 2008 Airbourne? They are very similar to AC/DC! In fact when i first heard them i thought it was AC/DC until the vocals came in!
joely22 Posted 31 January 2008 Posted 31 January 2008 Bic Runga She's the woman that sang Sway, which is the song in American Pie. I think! That films almost 10 years old now. Is still awesome.

Listening to the first track off Global Control as I write and I have to say so far so very good. Reminds me a bit of Death in Vegas with a smile on their faces.
Daggers Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 If anyone else downloads and likes it then buy the CD's from their website. Cheers

Trav Le Bleu Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 The Dears Great album, No Cities Left Loved Ride...and Swevedriver at the Leadmill was one of the finest gigs I've ever been to. Didn't even know they were playing, we just drifted in for a couple of pints.Anyway - JTB: Subgiant...here Seen Ride live at DeMontfort Hall, as mentioned elsewhere. Got all their EPs and the album. I keep meaning to get some Hurricane #1 stuff, but never quite got round to it. But if we're talking shoegazing, then surely My Bloody Valentine were the greatest exponents? Isn't Anything is a great album (though most people seem to prefer Loveless, but that's slightly too over-produced for me) And what about Slowdive, Chapterhouse and Catherine Wheel?
MC Prussian Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 Great album, No Cities Left Have you heard "Gang Of Losers" that came out in 2006? It's a revelation.
Wils Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 The Clocks. Saw these last night supporting One Night Only and they really impressed me, now listening to some of there stuff sounds good.
Joe. Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Cut Off Your Hands. Not sure how well known they are but look them up anyway.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 I discovered this little heard of band from the 60s, called the Be Atles. Not bad, but I prefer the Ruling Stains.

Guest Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 I don't know Porcupine Tree myself but I like to think of Coheed as kinda pop metal. Check out either Good Apollo Im Burning Star Iv: Volume 1, or as Mark said Second Stage Turbine Blade
