Trav Le Bleu Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Well I'm getting fed up with all the calls for Ollie's head already - so I've decided to put this poll up to see if the majority of Foxestalk Forumites are truly looking for the knee-jerk reaction, or are we cool, calm and patient, ready to weather the storm we are surely passing through? My own thoughts are that Ollie is managing a team where NO ONE knows where they stand. How would you like having 5 different bosses this year? Don't think it would affect your performance? Then you are deluded. This team are NOT world beaters, not even Championship title-contenders, but they are capable of playing better than they are, but to do that they need above all stability and knowing what their roles actually are. What we have at the moment is a mess that will take time to sort out. As such, I'm going to give Ollie until the end of the season. I really don't care if it was Frank Spencer managing the side* so long as I knew our team knew what they were doing, what they would be doing the next game and looking forward to the future. Feel free to disagree - I'm sure you will *I really don't care if it was Frank Spencer managing the side - just for the record, this is a hyperbole.
Bluemoon Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 *I really don't care if it was Frank Spencer managing the side - just for the record, this is a hyperbole. Ooohhh Betty!!

So where's the option to do that then?
WetFlannel Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Definately end of the season... cant see why anyone would be judging him now, 5 games is absolutely ridiculous
DB11 Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Why not any longer than after the end of the season such as after the whole 3 years?
Guest Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 End of the season at least. I'm eager to see what he does in the transfer window but I do think it'll take a bit of time for him to get new signings/best of the current bunch working well together.
ithuriel Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 if we are bottom by the end of january with no signs of any improvement then cheerio , though i must remind poeple i am slightly biased because i never wanted ollei has manager.

filbertstreetboy Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 ollies ment to be a motivator and if theres no improvement on some of our worst displays in 10 yrs by the end of jan then we need a new boss *tin hat on*
lavrentis Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Ollie is a great manager, and will last a long time and become a Leicester City Great!
Asha Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Let's hope you are right ay Yeah. Ain't sure though. But hope so.
Benji Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 This whole thing is really beginning to piss me off... Is it not remarkably obvious that it isn't the managers that are failing at this club, how many more managers do some of you morons want to give a month and then sack until eventually, and through pure luck, one of them pulls out 2/3 victories out of 4. To me it has to be the crock of sh1t pansying around on the football field every week that are letting more goals go into their net than they are putting in the oppositions. Simple huh? I will confess to my annoyance at Holloway's 'give up until january' ethos as that isn't very fair on the thousands that spend £50+ week in week out but at the same time you can't blame him.
kendalfox Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Ollie's been in too long already. I think we should a have a new manager every fortnight, kind of like guest managers. This is the best solution all round, statistically every new manager will one the first or second game of their new tenure, so if we have a new manager every second or third match then we'll get around a 50% win rate. Its enough to keep us from relegation and possibly may get us near the play-offs. We could even have celebrity managers for a weekend or something. We could have people like the Spice Girls, Gordon Ramsey, Lenny Henry or Fiona Bruce do a match, it would certainly get bums on seats. The stadium would be full every week (depending on the celebrity – I mean no-one would turn up for someone like Anthony Worrall-Thompson, Jade Goody or that guy who came second in X Factor). Z-list celebrities could manage the reserves, but obviously we wouldn't let Michael Jackson manage the youth team. Anyway I think this is the most brilliantest, bestest idea ever and if it doesn't happen then I'll cry until someone puts my dummy back in... Come on Milan get it sorted!

RowlattsFox Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 End of the season and then a decent crack at next season, even if we went down. If Mandaric wants a decent manager to replace Holloway, whenever that may be, then he needs to prove that he is going to give the manager a chance. Another sacking this season then I dont see anyone, who isnt desperate, wanting the job.
Mikey Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Why can't we have longer than the end of the season?
Monk Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 None of the above. I think he'll be here longer than a season.
James. Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Quite amusing that for a thread termed "Not another Ollie out thread" each option in the poll results in Ollie being out. I choose none of the above.
Lets Be having You Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 this poll is a load of bollocks, give the bloke a chance for ****sakewe keep sacking managers like we do is no good for this club, and i belive he will,do a good job, just give him time
teblin Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Quite amusing that for a thread termed "Not another Ollie out thread" each option in the poll results in Ollie being out.I choose none of the above. It actually says when will you be judging ollie.
Raj Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 It actually says when will you be judging ollie. Only the Almighty can judge!!!! Mind you having said that i'd have the cvnt out now!!!!
James. Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 It actually says when will you be judging ollie. You are quite right. I think I'm still a bit drunk.
Flexx Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 FFS he just needs time to settle in. Get used to the players and everything. I want him here for 3 years. Even if we get relegated i would still want him. Just because things don't go right, doesn't mean it won't get better.
