UrbanFox Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Happy with Stevie Howard signing hes just what we need, someone who can put the ball in the net who do u think will be our main front 2 now then???? not a bad bunch to pick from ... Howard,DJ,Fryatt,Huuummme and Hayles
Darkzzz_ Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 I think the main thing is to have more options and to have more competition in certain places. Hayles knows where the net is and howard is a powerhouse, which is something we have lacked for a while... Horsfield was supposed to give us that option but that just didnt work really!! I am happy with them, £1.5 million is that too much?? Maybe not compared with the going rate now for a striker. now a days...

Webbo Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 1.5Mil and 3.5 year contract Also a fee involved with Hayles! 3.5 years for a 31 year old.
Bernie's Love Child Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Very pleased with Howard and Hayles. Think Kavanagh will be a good addition to midfield. Just need to tie up the Fulop deal. Think Ollie's made some good additions.
Anish Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 3.5 years for a 31 year old. Let's just hope this isn't De Vries all over again. I'm happy with the signing but slightly concerned with the length of the contract - 2 years would have been enough.
Babylon Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 2 years would have been enough. For us, but maybe not for him.

The 3 1/2 year contract has swayed him this way I reckon.
filbertway Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Go t'pub drink 10 pints get absolutely plastered go back leicester score some goals cos he's a drunken bastard
Master Fox Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Great signing. Just what we need. What's going on with Hayles? Are we getting him too? Hopefully we'll be able to shift out Fryatt and Hume.

City Fan Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 For us, but maybe not for him. Exactly. I think his Derby contract runs out at the end of next season. So basically he would have nothing to gain in coming to us because I can imagine we are offering him about the same wages as Derby were paying him, yet he would be playing in a division lower. He wouldn't want to come if we only offered him a short term deal.
Ozwin Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Am I right in thinking that a load of Championship clubs have been after him aswell?
lee7 Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 good transfers. both are big and strong and both can score goals.

MADLEVEIN Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 already on wiki ....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Howard
Kilworthfox Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Just heard on Sky Sports News they can both play tomorrow! As they singed today! Hayles on an 18 month contract Howard on 3 & half worth 1 million Roughly £5500 per week!
Flynny Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Howard on 3 & half worth 1 million Roughly £5500 per week! Thats actually a reasonable wage. I bet Clem's on twice that.
Jay Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 SMoooooth after the Derby Christmas party... he does have a bit of the old Shane Mcgowan about him imo
Kilworthfox Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 after the Derby Christmas party... he does have a bit of the old Shane Mcgowan about him imo wow very harsh!
Matt Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Ricky from the Kaiser Cheifs Stevie Howard (Just so happens Ricky from the Kaiser Cheifs has a pint next to him )
C.J Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 How much we got hayles for? Kavagnahs too old, would of been a good signing a couple of years ago.
Blue Bob Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 I can see where Ollie is coming from, two big strikers that can make it hard work for the oppositions centre halves. I do think Fryatt and Hume are both too lightweight, might do well playing off a big man but are a pairing they are easy work for the opposition. I think that has just changed!!!
