Sky Blues close in on new boss

Recommended Posts

Coventry chairman Ray Ranson has revealed he is "very confident" of naming Iain Dowie's successor as Sky Blues boss in the next 48 hours.

Dowie and members of his backroom staff were relieved of their duties last Monday, with Frankie Bunn placed in temporary charge for Saturday's 5-0 defeat at the hands of West Brom in the FA Cup fifth round.

But Ranson told Sky Sports News on Sunday night: "We're moving in on things.

"We've been doing a lot of work and have taken our time but I'm very confident of filling the management chair in the next 48 hours - maybe tomorrow, with a bit of luck."

Martin Allen anyone? :giggle:

-Just to add that is joke, Not even seen any rumours linking him but would be funny, Infact that'd be terrible, probably bite us in the arse if that happened. Actually has anyone seen any rumours? I've not really looked into it that much.

But Saturday's looking likely Coventry will have a new manager, Anyone in the mood to ruin someones party?! :giggle::whistle::thumbup:

New manager syndrome. Always a bad sign when the team you're facing have just appointed a new gaffer.

Good appointment for them really. I know he's not got experience in this league, but he did fairly well at Fulham.

Really big game for us next Saturday now. It would be horrible for them to win in his first home game, we have got to spoil their big doo. Absolutely hammer them and upset Paul Henderson.

Koumas was going to come here on loan (view to a move - rolling contract) but pulled out after having a tantrum about the kop being at the wrong end.

Yeah, I hear he didn't want to have to pay £493274892 for his half time burger, either. And let's be fair, Jacey Koumas probably gets through a few.

..according to BBC . His career is on a major downturn then,- no new manager boost I hope before the weekend

Like the new manager boost Newcastle just got? Or all of ours for ages prior to IH? ;)

Someone more bored than me can dig out the facts to prove or disprove my statement that "new manager boost" is an urban myth.

im gutted as i wanted coleman here before we appointed martin allen.

Snap, I rate him as a manager. He'll do well for them and would've done great for us. Saying that I'm now happy with Ollie.

I'm too lazy to dig out any stats/statements but I'm sure it's no myth.

New Manager Syndrome does exist me thinks.

Makes Saturday's game harder does it not?

Always nice to play a managerless team. Time after time we've gone to a place with a new manager and his first game and got tonked

Sigh

To think we were taking the mick out of that Cov fan because he said they were getting Coleman. How he was right.

Lets hope he can't work miracles and win his first game.

Can't say it pleases me to see Coventry have a new manager right before our game :ermm:

Especially because it's Coleman as well, I like him as a manager to be honest.

And Sam, i'd hardly say beating us is performing miracles
