Leicester City are hopeful of surpassing the 10,000 Season Ticket mark by the weekend.

The Ticket Office was a hive of activity over the Bank Holiday weekend and that steady stream of fans pledging their support to the Foxes' 2008/09 League One campaign has since gathered further pace as the Early Bird Deadline of this Saturday (May 31) draws ever closer.

And with an abundance of new supporters who have already snapped up a ticket also looking to relocate within the Walkers Stadium, current Season Ticket holders are reminded that they must renew before 5pm on Saturday if they are to guarantee their same seat inside the ground for next season.

Chief Executive Paul Aldridge said: "On behalf of everyone connected with the club, we would like to place on record our appreciation and thanks to all those supporters who have already committed themselves to next season."

Head of Consumer Sales Chris Tinbergen added: "We would like to remind those who haven't yet renewed their Season Tickets that they may lose their seats after the weekend.

"All remaining seats will be released at the close of business on Saturday and will be available to those new supporters who have already purchased a Season Ticket for next season and are looking at the possibility of relocating."

Relocations will take place from Monday (June 2).

The savings available on Season Tickets purchased prior to May 31 are substantial, over £200 in some cases.

But from June 1 the Early Bird prices, which provide adult Season Tickets from just £12 per game, will rise to just over £13 per game while adult prices for the South Stand and the Marks Electrical Family Stand are frozen at £322 until May 31, rising to £354 from after then.

Meanwhile, new Family Season Ticket discounts and easy payment plans, designed to help spread the cost of a Season Ticket, have also been introduced for next term.

The club will also continue to offer FREE Season Tickets for the Under-8s in the Marks Electrical Family Stand.

The Ticket Office is open from 9am until 5pm every day through until Saturday, but supporters looking to renew their current seats can do so by either buying on line at lcfc.com or by e-mailing the Ticket Office direct at [email protected]

On Sunday, the Ticket Office and City Megastore will be closed for stock-taking and will re-open again on Monday at 9am.

All e-mails and on-line orders for Season Tickets received before midnight on Saturday, May 31 will be honoured at the Early Bird price.

If we have nearly sold 10,000 season tickets, i'm surprised. I thought it would be less than that at this stage, even with the prices rising/reverting back  afterwards.

to be honest i cant see them selling any more after the early bird thing finishes

I know I'll probably end up buying one if I can raise the funds.

These numbers have increased pretty sharply, I thought it was only about 1,000 a few weeks ago?

The difference between the early bird and late bird prices isn't THAT massive, is it? I'm sure demand will peak before the deadline, but anyone who really wants one and hasn't got the cash at the moment isn't going to be put off that much, are they?

That seems pretty good.

How many did we sell last year in total?

Wasn't it about 13,000? Maybe just under I think.

So with over 2 months till the season begins we should get around that again then, especially if an interesting manager comes in.

i will be buying mine at the last minute!!!!

i am genuinely looking forward to next season for the 1st time in ages.

relegation is not ideal but it has cleared the air in a way.

a lot has changed since o'neill left for celtic but

our o'neill hangover has gone on for far too long

now its a clean slate completely

2,000 are probably under-8 tickets so no revenue!

Huddersfield recently surpassed 15,000 due to their normal pricing for a nice stadium

They've had a very busy week then. When I went down to renew mine on Sunday, the lass on the counter said they'd sold 4,500.

I'm not sure that place is capable of processing almost 5,500 purchases in the space of 3 1/2 days.....

This is of course assuming the lass in the ticket office wasn't talking bollocks

Isn't it £100 to mark their 100th season or something?

It'd be nice if all our STs were £125... or maybe £1 for our first season in League One! :D

Yes, I got mine a couple of weeks ago and only 1500 had been sold.

Although at that time they were ahead of last year.

They processed 6000 Chelsea tickets inside 2 and a bit days didnt they, so it can be done. Getting people to pay isn't the time-consuming bit of processing season tickets.

Also, the report said we should have sold 10k by the weekend, so they've probably sold around 8k at the moment, I'd guess.

It is just spin from the website though.

Surely we sold more than that we averaged 23,500 last season.

Yeah it was about 13,000. Steady decrease since prem when we had 21,000, then 16,500 first season in Championship down to 13,000 last season.

Just what I was going to say, OS is infamous for it's spin to try to get more interested!! Like "Near capacity crowd expected at weekend" or "bumper crowd expected" and then the usual 21 to 22k turn up!! Same with season tickets, all they've said is that they are hopeful of passing 10,000 which probably means in reality they won't.

Or could just be me being a cynic ...............

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. Either that or we are all being cynical.

I wish they'd just tell us how many have been sold and wouldn't continue to treat us like cash cows here to be fleeced. I'd like the new era to include clear, honest and straightforward communication from the club rather than crass marketing & PR 'tactics'.

Do cows have fleece? Sheep, surely (or should that be shornly )?! :P

Is this a cash sheep, I wonder? :dunno::S
