LeeCovFox Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 I'm guessing that a number of us on FT are following a team this summer, whether it be for betting reasons, family connections, whatever. So who is your team, and why? For me its Poland. My housemate has Polish ancestry and I just thought that it would be more enjoyable to follow a side along with somebody as I do with England when we have qualified. I also think that Poland are well capable of beating the Croats minus Eduardo to second position in that group, and they did impress me in spells against the Germans. If and when the Poles are eliminated, my begrudging respect for Germnay will more than likely kick in. I'm told that I have some Spanish ancestry by my Grandad, but I've certainly no experience of that family history myself, so I don't feel any particular connection to them.

Finnegan Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 I've always had a soft spot for both Croatia (red and white checks, c'mon!) and the Czech Republic, but it's difficult to not be impressed with Spain to be honest. Plus, they've got David Silva.

Joe. Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 I'm hoping Spain win it this year. In ways I kind of feel for them because they've been very much like England in major tournaments in general. Plus the fact they have some cracking players who are exciting to watch. Aside from Spain I'm warming to Croatia too, wouldn't mind seeing them win it this year either.
