Moreton Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Sky Sports have mentioned this about 7 minutes ago after discussing Ronaldo's future, there will be a press conference at sometime today Did it say it would be live on SSN?
Monk Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I hope we can draw a line under all of this from today with the anticipated appointment. Mandy's obviously had a hard time again getting the guy he wants, and I seriously doubt that Pearson was in his original top 3. I must say I don't know anything at all about pearson and I missed both Southampton games this season so I all I can really do is hope that it's the right appointment.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Well I feel better than last night anyway. I was horrified of the thought of Robson or Hoddle, and slightly less concerned about Gregory. ****it, at least we've got a new manager now, hopefully he'll clear out the shit and we can start preparing for the new season. I know people want an exciting appointment, but that's not gonna happen in division 3. Let's just give him our support and forget about win percentages.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Did it say it would be live on SSN? No they didn't...that's not to say it won't though.
James. Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 :@ Im fooking gutted! Support someone else then. For fook's sake.
Moreton Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 No they didn't...that's not to say it won't though. I think it will. I mean what else have they got to show thats better
eaststandtom Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 remembering him from the goold old days when he played for boro in those games against us. wasnt he like their version of walshy? commited to the cause a little bit more than the rest? think a manager starting from scratch suits what we need here. to start from scratch, new mentality etc
davieG Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Ambivalent about this but that's how i feel about all things LCFC these days.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Ambivalent about this but that's how i feel about all things LCFC these days. Could do with a new signature.

Basingstoke Fox Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Support someone else then. For fook's sake. I support the club not the fooking manager, what could possibly be good about this person?
Eastern Fox Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I'm surprised by this appointment given this man's record. He certainly doesn't look any better than Ian Holloway on paper, worse if anything. He's only had two proper spells as a manager, a season at Carlisle from 1998-99, where won 5/30 games, and last season at Southampton, winning 3/14 games. Why is this guy getting the job again? Is there really no-one better?

Ive not been the biggest fan of the Walsh idea but surely he would be a better choice then Pearson.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 who was the last manager we appointed who had a fantastic reputation as a coach?! I also see Pearson was caretaker to the U21s any comparisons to a certain Mr Taylor???!! I think we were dreaming if honestly thought we could get Billy Davies or prize Ince or Grayson from their respective jobs... Joking aside best of luck... p.s. put Gradel right wing please!!!
Eastern Fox Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 who was the last manager we appointed who had a fantastic reputation as a coach?! There's a difference between not being a fantastic coach and a coach that has never been successful. I know it sounds very negative, but his record as a manager is very poor. The club must be a very dire position indeed if this is the best we could do.
Tilley Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I'll get behind him, but doesn't fill me with excitement.
blue blood Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 we are never going to attract a manager with any sort of proven track record in our situation. when we used to be good we would take in up and comming managers, the type of manager that would do well in the situation we are in. the tables have turned boys and girls now its our turn to take a punt on a young manager to see if he is any good before a bigger club takes him off us.
adam Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Dear o dear, what a shocking appointment. The blokes record was worse than Holloways. Milan said he wanted a winner, i wouldnt call him that. Thank god i didnt renew my season ticket, another shite season.
blue blood Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 a few quotes form a southampton website; I love Pearson. I've said it time after time in forum. Lowe is so determined to get rid of anything with Crouch/McMenemy links that the risk of losing Pearson is high. I just hope when I turn the radio on today it says Pearson is staying. Silver Pearson gone. I will miss him. He was appreciated and the fans loved him, I hope he knows that. I for one will be raising a glass to him for the future. He deserved better than us. Bye Pearson and thankyou. Silver what a strange decision hope it backfires for your board mick66owl I was surprised to see you get rid of Pearson. I am sure most of your talent will be sold from underneath the new manager. Iw onder if he realises the task infront of him? dazza71 and a link http://www.southampton.vitalfootball.co.uk...le.asp?a=110361
purpleronnie Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Have to say I'm amazed that Milan has gone for Pearson, he wouldnt even be on my list. Oh well. Good luck to him...and us.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Thank god i didnt renew my season ticket, another shite season. I WANT one of these crystal ball thingies. They're f ucking ace.
Dr The Singh Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 It's a wake up call to those feckers that still go on about how big and great a club we are and that were gonna attract the likes of McClaren etc!! I can't help but feel the new chairman had a big hand in his signing, cus the Gregory camp were quite confident!! Well, a new era begins ironically we got the man who helped in sealing our fate last season, I hope we all give him the backup and support any manager should deserve!!!
