Flynny Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I hope Manderic gives him a good go. If its that kind of relationship then I'm frankly disgusted.
Jon the Hat Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Welcome Nigel, and good luck. We expect passion, fight, and the youngsters to have a chance to impress. we expect to be in contention for automatic promotion. We want to see some goals. Nigel is not a guy with years of managing under his belt, so judgin his wins ratio is meaningless. He has twice come in and had an important impact at clubs. He has been respected enough to be kept on when his boss have has been sacked at Newcastle and West Brom. He got the boot from Southampton for an unknown Dutchman due to boardroom politics. Forget the inw raatios, forget the fact that he is eseentially a number tow making the step. This guy has a pedigree as a coach and as a player. Soton fans are sad to see him go. He clearly has something about him. Lets give him the best support we can to help him take us back up.
Number 6 Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 If its that kind of relationship then I'm frankly disgusted. don't worry, Pearson will give him a good go back.
Katy Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Fcuk about Milan must have been desperate.Anyway having got that out the way, I will give Nigel Pearson my full 100% support, as with any manager. No he wasn't my choice (not even close) but he gets my backing! There's plenty of time for Nige to be sacked yet . Ah don't say that. I don't think anyones nerves can stomach anymore of the speculation bollocks that we've had for the past two weeks
Flynny Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 don't worry, Pearson will give him a good go back. At last, the mystery of Allen's sacking solved - Milan wouldn't let him go on top.
Daggers Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Saints fans: Nigel was great for us. The majority of Saints fans wanted him to stay. You should do well with him in charge - he's disciplined and gets the players playing as a team, something which looked miles off before he came here. Very good 1st Division Manager, but will not get you back into the CCC. Will want to bring his 'mates' in as back room staff, which he was not allowed to here, because they were not reckonized Coaches!! he will do well for you... if you keep him, which you most probably won't Just as it says on the tin!He did what was required. He kept us up. I don't think he has the makings a great manager.... but heck look what they said about Arsene Wenger!! Had his agent not been the son of the the "Saviour of all English Football", we might have him still.
Koke Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 We might as well have kept Holloway than appoint this joker. Pearson won't last long here.
The Stig Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Everytime we've had a manager under Milan I've had an opinion. With Allen and Holloway they were completly wrong. So, I have absoultely no idea how well he will do, how long he will stay for or how long we will stay in League 1. I DON'T KNOW. But the one thing we can say for sure. The Nigeometer is born.
Flynny Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Who will be his number 2??? Someone shit. (Hah I'm funny) Like I said earlier about Saints fans' praise: "As much as I don't think this is a particularly bad appointment, if Rob Kelly had left the club at the end of the 05-06 season to go to another club, I'm fairly sure the comments on this forum would be similar"
Daggers Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 But the one thing we can say for sure. The Nigeometer is born. Racist.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 An overwhelming sense of deja vu has engulfed me. Not the man I wanted, but.... Two up in ten minutes against Franchise FC and we'll be laffing. Two down and it's "hello manager number 7". Welcome Nigel, I hope you enjoy your stay with Leicester and I hope you bring success to the club. Que sera sera.
Toby or not Toby Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Not my first choice or anywhere near, but hope everyone gives him a chance and that he proves me wrong a wins league
Houdini Logic Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Just watched the Press Conference. Seems composed and realistic (so i'm not sure why MM went for him?!).
Tommy G Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Well he cant have been milans 1st choice. We can't attract any better
Ric Flair Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Someone shit.(Hah I'm funny) Like I said earlier about Saints fans' praise: "As much as I don't think this is a particularly bad appointment, if Rob Kelly had left the club at the end of the 05-06 season to go to another club, I'm fairly sure the comments on this forum would be similar" Said the same myself. But Pearson does seem to have a bit more about him, we shall see I suppose.
filbertuk Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 If you want a flip side, Tony Mowbray - a similar character and player - got a similar reception at Hibs and got them into the top four and won an award or two there. What he's done at West Brom is well-known. Everyone has to start somewhere, let's hope that we're the first success story on Pearson managerial CV. Similar to Tony Mowbray, Nigel Pearson is very highly regarded by Middlesbrough fans - a legend in fact.
Toecutter Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Brilliant he waits all this time to give the job to someone who only just kept his team up and sent us down, then got the sack! what a cv that is. Who else applied for the post if this is the best we can get? I thought Pearson was more of a coach than a manager anyway, this club has lost the plot, Mandaric will probably sack him by christmas after we win 2 in a row. Milan is helping sub-standard managers get their homes paid off by signing them to contracts that are far too long but he knows best i guess, its only money.

Ben Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Will want to bring his mates in as back room staff, which he was not allowed to here, because they were not reckonized coaches! Might aswell give Walshy the chance then if that's the case!
