Ask.fm is fvcking stupid. I'm 16 and I've seen plenty of people 14-16 constantly called slags and bitches and told to die. The anonymous element should be completely scrapped. Just lets cowards bully people.

Someone should hack the site and expose the cowardly scum.

Completely agree. What kind of sad pathetic life must these people have to ask such disgusting things to a 14 year old girl. Should be named and shamed in my opinion

I know within the community news agency network there are training sessions on social internet media. I am sure someone would be willing to go into schools to give talks.

But you are right there should be some time devoted to this and PC technology in general. The world is changing. The kids may be whiz at video games but theres a lot more to do in the work place that are PC friendly.

Nah fvck that, too much like hard work, just create a really pointless opt in system where you choose to have full access to the internet or very limited access with no in between.

Thieves have "hacked out" two "nationally important" 15th Century panels from a screen in a Devon church.

The decorative oak panels, each containing a painting of a saint, were taken from Holy Trinity Church in Torbryan.

The Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) said it feared the panels could be sold abroad.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the thieves targeted the disused church between 2 and 9 August.

Ariel Castro found hanged in prison cell

Sky News - Sky News - Wed Sep 4 09:45:00 UTC 2013

Ariel Castro, the Cleveland man who held three women captive for a decade, has died after apparently hanging himself inside his prison cell.

The 53-year-old was found in his cell at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Ohio, at 9.20pm on Tuesday, prison officials said.

Prison medical staff performed CPR on him before he was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead 90 minutes later.

JoEllen Smith, a spokeswoman for the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, said Castro was being held in protective custody because of the notoriety of the case.

This meant he was checked every 30 minutes, but he was not on suicide watch.

His three victims - Gina DeJesus, Amanda Berry and Michelle Knight - disappeared between 2002 and 2004, when they were 14, 16 and 20-years-old.

Before the sentencing, Castro's lawyers had unsuccessfully tried to have a psychological examination of their client.

They argued Castro fit the profile of sociopathic disorder, and said they hoped researchers would study him for clues that could be used to stop other predators.

Castro, a former school bus driver, said during his sentencing hearing that he was a man suffering from a pornography addiction.

"I'm not a monster. I'm sick," he said.

He was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to 937 counts including kidnap and rape.

His victims told a horrific story of starvation, beatings and sexual abuse during the years of captivity in his home in Seymour Avenue in east Cleveland.

Castro chained them by their ankles, fed them only one meal a day and provided plastic toilets in their bedrooms that were rarely emptied.

He is the father of Ms Berry's six-year-old girl, DNA tests have confirmed.

Ms Knight, who confronted him in court, said: "You took 11 years of my life away, and I have got it back."

"I spent 11 years in hell. Now your hell is just beginning."

The three women escaped on May 6, when Ms Berry broke open a door and alerted neighbours.

"Help me," she said in a call to the police emergency dispatcher.

"I've been kidnapped, and I've been missing for 10 years and I'm, I'm here, I'm free now."

Castro was arrested that evening.

Proof that long sentances work. No cost to the taxpayer here and the World is rid of a monster.

Rot in Hell Castro.

Nelson Mandella. Blood all over his hands in the past, regardless of what he is like now. Very much akin to Gerry Adams, another scum bag.

When your hands are bloody like theirs have been, they deserve to burn in hell along with many others,

This got me thinking, why do we have suicide watch in prisons? I don't support the death sentence, but I do support the right for someone to choose if they want to die, and assisted suicide. Amazingly they have suicide watch on death row, is that not the most bizarre thing ever:

The next inmate to be executed in Ohio is under heightened security as the state tries to avoid another suicide attempt on Death Row. In response, a civil-liberties group suggested the new policy goes too far.

Serial rapist Darryl Durr, who is scheduled to die Tuesday by lethal injection for strangling a 16-year-old girl a suburb of Cleveland in 1988, is under a 72-hour watch at a state prison in Youngstown.

The watch has been standard procedure. But now his cell includes a Plexiglas-like door so guards can keep him under better surveillance, prisons spokeswoman Julie Walburn said. Also, his bed lacks springs, which he could use to harm himself, and he can't have physical contact with visitors.

Mental-health staff members will evaluate whether Durr, 46, can have certain personal items, including shoestrings, or leave his cell for recreation, Walburn said.

The moves follow the March 7 suicide attempt of Lawrence Reynolds, an inmate who overdosed on an antidepressant hours before he was to be sent from Youngstown to the Southern Ohio Correction Facility in Lucasville, site of the state's death chamber.

Is there not something slightly perverse about keeping someone alive just so you can kill him, let them die if they want to, especially at considerable extra cost.

Part of the problem is who has control. Many of these psychos/rapists do it because they crave control and taking their own lives before the state does it gives them back one last controlling act.
