C-man Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric has told BBC Radio Leicester he expects striker Matty Fryatt to sign a new contract this week. Fryatt has already bagged 22 goals for the Foxes this term but the 22-year-old's current deal is due to expire at the end of the season. Mandaric said: "Things are going in the right direction. "We are talking to his agent and I don't see any major difficulties - we want him to sign and he wants to stay." He added: "I would be very, very surprised if he didn't sign in the next few days. "Matty is a very bright young man, very positive, he loves the club and his team mates. "There are people who are interested but there's one club that is more interested than anyone else and that is Leicester City." Link Good news.
Sods Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 "There are people who are interested but there's one club that is more interested than anyone else and that is Leicester City." I like that.
Matt Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 It worries me when Milan opens his mouth. Especially on such crucial matters. See ya Matty
C-man Posted 15 December 2008 Author Posted 15 December 2008 Milan has spoken now. Fryatt will go for £0 Yes because that is clearly the most logical assumption you can make from the article.
maddog Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Hes leaving then, that settles it. Or Milan is offering him 5 figures a week to stay The £4m offer can't be real then or Milan would surely take it.
Ric Flair Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 That's a quote and a half from Milan, I think he's taken a leaf out of Kerrea's book.
hairy Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 When Milan opens his mouth you can only expect the worse.
morris1234 Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 That's a quote and a half from Milan, I think he's taken a leaf out of Kerrea's book. yeah but i bet hes crap on pro evo!
Simi Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 "Make a bigger offer for Matty and you have him".
Mickey O'Neil Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 That's a quote and a half from Milan, I think he's taken a leaf out of Kerrea's book.
Corky Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Please don't say this Mandaric, because if he doesn't, you'll look like an idiot and the fans will be annoyed, with Fryatt as much as you.
Kilworthfox Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 "Make a bigger offer for Matty and you have him". Source?
Thracian Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Milan has spoken now. Fryatt will go for £0 At least it doesn't suggest Mandaric is desperate to sell and is therefore making decisions in the best interest of our promotion push rather than pressing financial demands. That is not to imply that he couldn't be tempted but, as I mentioned earlier, the notion of £4m doesn't sound nearly so good when you take off Walsall's share and the cost of an a replacement striker of the sort who might have any chance of matching Fryatt's return this season.
GLC Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 almost like he has a gun to his head you WILL sign!!!!
J.Lisemore Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 great news , he holds the key to whether we go up this year or not
C-man Posted 15 December 2008 Author Posted 15 December 2008 Is he fook. Maybe not, but at least he's showing that he has the team's best interests at heart with that quote and is thinking about the team's prospects rather than the (rather handy) cash we could get for Fryatt.
Matt Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Maybe not, but at least he's showing that he has the team's best interests at heart with that quote and is thinking about the team's prospects rather than the (rather handy) cash we could get for Fryatt. Not really, Whats best in the team/club's interests is what is best in his bank accounts interests which is all he cares about. (This season hasn't been to bad because for once he hasn't featured on Sky Sports News or the Papers too much, When he first come thought it would be the best thing that had happened to Leicester City, I was wrong) Fair enough to him, that is why he bought the club, but he really does worry me when he opens his mouth, and don't for 1 second think he has the team/clubs best interests as a first priority - It just goes hand in hand with what he wants.
