Mikey Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 DO you think that Fryatt being subbed the last 4 games (i think) before the end of the game is because Pearson doesn't want him injured as he's being sold in Jan or do you think its because he's our top goalscorer and Pearson doesn't want to risk him getting injured if the game seems to be won? I thought Fryatt could've scored more goals today so i was surprised when he was subbed. He was going for his 3rd home hat trick in a row The first one was an own goal. And it made sense to take Fryatt off (and not Howard) because he'd already scored, and it would have done Howards confidence a world of good if he had scored, as he duly did.

Yes i understand that if anyone was to be subbed it would be Fryatt as Howard needed a goal and i'm really pleased for Howard, hes been playing really well lately, but i thought Pearson could've left it how it was and i was just wondering if there was maybe an underlying reason to Fryatt being subbed for the last 4 games. Yeah i know the first goal was an own goal, but the way hes been playing i thought he maybe could've got another 2 goals, and i had Fryatt last goalscorer and 5-0 at 125/1
Daggers Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 Milan Shut your mouth. Hopefully he will sign like you say, maybe you were making honest, innocent comments, and you probably were being pressured by RL and the media about the situation, but it's just another false comment from you, When will you learn?! Irony, anyone? DO you think that Fryatt being subbed the last 4 games (i think) before the end of the game is because Pearson doesn't want him injured as he's being sold in Jan No.
maddog Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Wouldn't be the first or the last time. Looks like Milan has yet again got egg on his face. Its Monday afternoon and he still hasn't signed. And i don't think he will.
Steven Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Looks like Milan has yet again got egg on his face. Its Monday afternoon and he still hasn't signed. And i don't think he will. Somebody on TB is saying he is staying? http://www.talkingballs.co.uk/showpost.php...p;postcount=396

Ric Flair Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?k...122008251376731 Pearson usually keeps trap shut unless things are pretty much done and dusted. Matt will be seething that Mandaric might for once not have made a prat out of himself.
davieG Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?k...122008251376731 Wouldn't it be better though to just wait until he signs and then announce it as a Fact!

He still has though as he said he would sign last week - I see no benefit in these ongoing announcements - tell it when it's done.
Corky Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Wouldn't it be better though to just wait until he signs and then announce it as a Fact! Absolutely, although as Ric says, Pearson isn't one to make bold statements to please the fans.
Tilley Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Wish they would just keep their mouths shut until he actually signs.
Collymore Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Wish they would just keep their mouths shut until he actually signs. No they can carry on opening their mouths thanks, oh you're not on about your sig

Kilworthfox Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Pearson & Mandaric know nothing, where is Knowitall?
Matt Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Pearson usually keeps trap shut unless things are pretty much done and dusted.Matt will be seething that Mandaric might for once not have made a prat out of himself. No, I have always said Fryatt may still sign and Mandaric would be right in saying he will sign (I do think he will sign) but MM has opened his mouth again, making false promises again that he would sign last week, setting deadlines again, as I said in a few post's i'm sure MM has been under media pressure over it, e.t.c, but he does not learn, He make these promise's he really isn't certain about, he set's these deadline's that he pluck out of the air.

Fox in a Box Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Will matty Sign today? Or done and dusted before the 24th..... ---------------------------------------------- by Bill Anderson The Christmas present Leicester City fans want is set to be unwrapped before the Boxing Day clash at Leeds - Matty Fryatt's new contract at the Walkers Stadium. City boss Nigel Pearson is confident that agreement can be reached in time for a fixture which was always looming large in the campaign. But the League One encounter has now been given added spice by the prospect of a new Leeds boss in place after the dismissal over the weekend of former City favourite Gary McAllister. He was sacked following Leeds' 3-1 reverse at MK Dons, which was the club's fourth successive league defeat. The 3,000-strong travelling Blue Army do not care what is happening at Elland Road and would love to see the Fryatt issue settled going into the game. Despite newspaper speculation, there has never been any suggestion that a new contract will not be agreed, as both Pearson, below, and City chairman Milan Mandaric have previously said. And with Fryatt notching his 23rd goal of the season in the 4-0 win against Peterborough on Saturday, his value was further underlined. Pearson feels Fryatt might be off on another scoring run, having missed out on the fabled “hat-trick of hat-tricks” with a blank at Carlisle. After Fryatt scored the important second goal against Posh, Pearson said: “Off he goes again, scoring another good goal. He is playing very well, he is enjoying himself and that is good for us. “My thoughts are the same as last week. There is a deal on the horizon and that is good news for us. “He is a player on form, a player who enjoys his football and he looks like he is going to score every time he plays, which is good for him and good for us. It is all about confidence and being in the right frame of mind, knowing your job and knowing how to do it, and fortunately for us we are pretty well up on that.” Even if City suffer the backlash of a new manager in charge for the first time, they cannot be knocked off top spot as they have a four-point cushion over second-placed MK Dons. But defeat is not in the minds of the City players because, after such a convincing display against Posh, their confidence must be at a real high. Pearson said: “It is a good lead to have before Christmas, but it is all about our next game. “We have worked hard to be where we are now, but it is where we are in May that matters.” Leeds, meanwhile, are busy trying to find a replacement for McAllister. Assistant boss Steve Staunton also parted company with the club yesterday, and a Leeds statement read: “The club would like to re-iterate that we hope to appoint a new manager as quickly as possible.”
Unit Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 haven't they said he'll sign 'today' everyday for a couple of weeks now?
Collymore Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 All we now is the club to pull out one of those "Fryatt Signs!" articles about a signing session down the walkers!
Legend_in_blue Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 The last time I heard from MM, he expected Fryatt to sign 'by Monday'. That was yesterday.
Flynny Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Damned Mandaric not being Mystic Meg with regard to other people's intentions and the machinations of agents! Who's worse, him for saying things he's not sure about, or people who take it as gospel and then get disappointed when it turns out he was guessing? Saying he "expects" something isn't the same as saying it'll happen. It was probably supposed to cajole Matty a bit, which is what he want him to be doing, frankly. The man was a one-man disaster last season but this season he's handled himself well.
Edmund Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 who cares as long as he signs. it's obviously taking a little longer than expected. if mandric kept quiet people would be having a go, if he speaks people are having a go. just leave it and stop moaning.
Thracian Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 I still wonder if Fryatt has an option to talk to any Premiership Club prepared to make an offer above a certain figure and if West Brom are such a club then why would he not talk to them if presented with the opportunity? Anyone would.
ASH17LCFC Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 I spoke to Dickov today ( he came in where i work) and he said he's good as signed. Also said he had a back problem but is all better now. I kept slagging DJ off to him aswell.
beemeroo Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 I still wonder if Fryatt has an option to talk to any Premiership Club prepared to make an offer above a certain figure and if West Brom are such a club then why would he not talk to them if presented with the opportunity? Anyone would. Right now its looking like theres a good chance of us both playing championship football next season. Perhaps Fryatt is one of your rarities who would rather finish off a good season for himself and try and work his way up to the premiership - rather than taking a leap and possibly damage his career for the sake of six goalless months at the bottom of the prem?
