HEAD TO HEAD

Overall, the two clubs have met 38 times previously, with all but one of those games coming in the league. Leicester's home record against the Hatters comprises 11 wins, 5 draws and just 3 defeats.

EARLY MEETINGS

The first ever clash, at Filbert Street in September 1900, was also County's inaugural league fixture. The game resulted in a 2-2 draw. In fact, it took Fosse four attempts to register their first home win over the Hatters.

RECENT HISTORY

Prior to this season, the most recent league clashes came back in 1924-25. The renamed City celebrated their first ever Second Division crown with a 4-0 romp at Filbert Street on the final day of the campaign. Last August, the Hatters visited the Walkers Stadium in the League Cup, for a game settled by a single Steve Howard strike. The league encounter at Edgeley Park, also last August, ended goalless.

BIGGEST WINS

There have been plenty of goals in previous clashes. The Hatters ran out 6-2 winners in April 1910, while two of those previous encounters have ended 5-4, both in favour of Leicester.

SEQUENCES

City have won both of the last two meetings in Leicester.

MARKSMEN

No player has yet scored a hat-trick in a league clash between the clubs. City's Johnny Duncan twice netted braces, as did Albert Waterall of Stockport. Waterall, who also once contributed an own goal to City, was the brother of former Fossil, Tom Waterall.

DEBUTANTS

Amazingly, no less than 17 players have made their Leicester league debuts against the Hatters, with the most recent being David Martin and Nicky Adams in the League Cup tie earlier this season.

FOOT IN BOTH CAMPS

The smattering of players to have represented both clubs over the years includes George Armstrong, George Carr, Paul Cooper, Kevin Ellison, Conrad Logan, Chris O'Grady, Andy Welsh, Winston White, Jimmy Willis, Frank Worthington and Steve Yates.

It's funny but I've always thought of Luton Town as The Hatters. How many "Hatters" are there?

Well we haven't scored more than 1 goal in a home match since Huddersfield and that feels like ages ago.

1-1, 0-0, 0-0 in the last 3 was very poor.

I really hope we can do what we did against Leyton Orient, Southend, P'Boro, Walsall, Cheltenham, Stevenage, and Hartlepool and win by 3 or more goals.

I've also always referred to Luton as the Hatters.

Pardon my ignorance to Stockport fans, but I never knew they were called The Hatters as well.

Care to split 50% of the winnings with me then??

I'm expecting another draw tonight, they concede very few away and we're hardly prolific at home, 1-1. Hope I'm wrong, come on city.

Agree, sadly.

Could really do with two home wins in a row, would stand us in great strength for a tough few games.

Perfect opportunity to getting back to winning ways and stop this dull rot at home! Come on City!!

I would like us winning this one - perfect start to the gameweek and then Cheltenham...

Hey, I'm not saying six points in the bag by Saturday, oh no.

id like to see max start too - just bet a fiver on a three-two city win

Odds must be pretty low for that. What do you win if we do win 3-2?

I bet you'd get very decent odds on a 3-2 win to be honest.
