Asha Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Bit disappointed. Was a fantastic, solid, goalscoring defender a year or two back.
Bluefoxtim Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Served him in Morrisons a few times. Mardy b@stard!
Thracian Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 You could never doubt Kisnorbo's commitment to the cause and our defence was usually fairly solid with him in it. But I thought his distribution was poor from the first time I saw him in the reserves and when Levein moved him into midfield he was simply way out of his element. The more I watched him the less I thought his passing was ever going to improve and Tunchev's arrival only emphasised what we'd been missing. Defensively he was as good as anyone and, if fit, he would still be our most dangerous centre-back when going up for corners and free-kicks. But that's it. In possession the guy was wasteful. Not the only wasteful defender we've got but we're not talking about the others. Good luck to him in the future wherever he goes. He was a 100 per center and that counts for something.
Corky Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Right decision. With Tunchev coming back, Morrison looking promising and possibly Hobbs joining us permanently, would he have played often? And at 27/28, he needs to be playing first-team football. Sad though, not the best passer, but he gave absolutely everything and was solid as a defender. Look at our goals against columns in the seasons he was CB. Chipped in with a fair amount of goals too. Best of luck for the future Paddy.

Do you not believe Pearson might be able to teach an old dog new tricks? Even if his passing improved by, say, 30%, he'd certainly be worth keeping. I just hope we're not doing what we did to Levein and demanding success at the same time as cost-cutting.

Kisnorbo is 28 at the end the month. If he hasn't learned to pass a ball 10, 15, 20 yards to a team mate by now then he never will. I'm emotionless regarding this. He's been a good servant to the club but I won't shed a tear if he leaves. And as I've said before, Morrison is a young Kisnorbo, the characteristics are there for all to see.

Kisnorbo will surely have long been aware that his passing is considered a weakness. He's had several seasons to improve that aspect of his game but I've never noticed it happening. I'd agree it's a pity.
dilko2008 Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Funny Pearson said in the Mercury today kisnorbo is near to a return this season and was in the squad on sat but not quite fit enough!
C-man Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Kisnorbo was my favourite player for the last two seasons. If you look at player ratings last year and maybe the season before, he rarely dipped below a 7, and was man of the match countless times. Ok he couldn't pass, but his defending and goal-scoring ability was good enough for a top CCC team. To contribute to the second best defence in a relegated team was testament to his defensive ability (and courageous heart). Every time he left the field (two wrongful sendings off and his injury) we conceded 3 last year. He was brilliant for us. If the source is credible, good luck for the future Paddy.
Daggers Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Shame he isn't staying, we could do a lot worse - and have done in Morrison - but he simply is too injury prone for my liking. If he could last a season then he'd be decent with Tunchev.
Legend_in_blue Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 I can't believe that some people on here are sorry to see him go. Get rid. Goodbye. Cheerio. He was one of the members of the worst team we've ever had. If the clearout starts with him, so be it. DJ next please.
Lovejoy Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 I won't be shedding any tears about this. Vastly overrated player.
Legend_in_blue Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 I won't be shedding any tears about this. Vastly overrated player. I agree and, for me, the jury's still out on Clemence. Mention of any of these players brings back negative thoughts and bad memories. We need to keep the feel good factor into next season and chuck out these players.

And i will be sad to see him go, thats if he does.
Dames Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 If this has anything to do with Wayne Brown signing in the summer then were practically shooting ourselves in the foot. For me Brown looks dogsh*t.
J.Lisemore Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 we have Tunch to come back at the start of next season, Morrison and I'm certain Pearson will have a couple of solid CB's on his radar already if he has already to Kisnorbo he won't be getting a new deal, he's basically been out all season and we haven't missed him, was the best of a bad bunch of CB's (him, McAuley and McCarthy) nothing more Weve had worse? after all we did have near enough have the best defensive record last season.
Jimmy Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Weve had worse? after all we did have near enough the best defensive record last season. we also had about 7 defenders playing at all times
General Smuts Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Really, were gonna start this shit again. Im staying well away.
Father Ted Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 This could obviously be a load of rubbish but if we can sign Hobbs on a permanent then I personally wouldn't mind, especially with the Tunch to return. Kisnorbo has always been a loyal servant to the club. He was a massive part of the defence that was so solid last year. Despite his hoof ball he got 5-10 goals a season from set pieces which were and could still be vital, aswell as a great leader and great attacker of the ball in the air. Obviously he has his disadvantages, hoof ball and wrestling his opponent to the ground but good luck to him if it's true. Could be because of his injury?
MPH Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 I'll say again City do not want to take the risk on his knee as we have done time and time before (other players like), only see them on our wage bill for exceptionally long times with injuries. . inurance covers wages for injured players.
TrickyTrev Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Significantly slower. and much worse in the air. So, not the same player at all, just much worse. Hopefully this means that Hobbs is signed up for next season. Him and the Tunch will be a fine Championship pairing.
knowitall Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 I dont think theres any way Hobbs would be allowed to leave Liverpool permanently Dont you now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will see. wink wink. You saw it first here.
Flynny Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 inurance covers wages for injured players. Premium goes up if we sign players with a history though, surely? It's not like we just get away with not paying owt.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Dont you now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We will see. wink wink. You saw it first here. Love it.
knowitall Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Can only be because of money IMO, he is on a wedge! He is by no means our worst centre back. I posted this at the start of the season. Kisnorbo would not sign a new contract with Leicester last year when we where in the Championship and he was in the team every week. Spoke to him since and he will not sign a new one now. So at the end of the season he is a free agent. Nothing NP can do about that.
