Koke Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Chelsea players were a disgrace yet again, but UEFA should not escape the blame as well. The Chelsea players acted as scumbags as usual after the final whistle, but what do you expect from a bunch of spoilt wankers? All this respect bollocks that the governing bodies are trying to shove in our faces needs to be upheld here. John Terry, the England captain, practically spitting down the refereees throat, I understand the tension, but he should realise his role and drag his players away. Then there is Drogba. All his bad karma must have come round tonight. The amount of times that cheating willy puller has attempted to con a referee is unreal, glad they didn't get a decsion and UEFA should throw the book at him for his actions. Who the hell does he think he is? Come off it Ched. Adrenaline is running high, last second goal, missed out on a CL final. I'd be absolute livid if I was on that pitch too, and so would you, mate.
Simi Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Some **** writing in on SSN saying the referee should apologise to the Chelsea fans and the British public? Jesus, are there really this amount of morons e-mailing in? Re-match? This is football, suck it up and stop sympathising with your spoilt bunch of players.

I'd be livid as well, but there is no way I would ever treat a referee like that, especially after the match. What was he expecting? "Oh hang on son, yeah we'll have a penality, **** it". His attention seeking actions were an embarrasment.

Maybes Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Fair play to Ashley Cole, managed to stay away from all the hot headed twats around the referee.
Darkzzz_ Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 I have always admired Guus . Thats football. I guess we are split on here. But we won't change it. You need luck as well and Barca got the luck for sure. Last season Barcelona deserved to go through against United over two legs and they were defensive too but United got the luck. It happens. I still don't think Barcelona will win it believe it or not, United are so strong all over. Barcelona are strong from the midfield up.
Koke Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Playing sideways passes with loads of possession and being utterly impotent with it doesn't impress me. Arsenal do it and they're fucking shit. I'm not even a Chelsea fan but this last second goal has angered me just like it has angered the Chelsea fans. I'll pop out for a quick joint and be back again - I can't believe I have to root for Manure in the final now.

His attention seeking actions were an embarrasment. Quite agree and also with your previous comment about his trying to con the ref. It seemed to me that he was trying to systematically build pressure on the referee from the time he first went down after having his shirt pulled. His histrionics became increasingly dramatic and his personal case progressively weaker. Apart from the blatant handball I felt some sympathy for the referee in that very little was clear cut, including the sending off. How easy it was for the commentators to stay silent while they replayed incidents time and again in slow moition before coming up with their conclusions. When seen at normal speed most of the main incidents were not easy ones for the referee. I keep coming back to the handball though. The referee saw it. And there is no way I can think of to explain his not giving a penalty.
shen Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Probably the best point of the day, though, was Andy Gray saying that you should have a ref from a top league in top games like this.He was right to say, with all due respect to the league of Norway, you should have someone from Italy or Germany or France in charge of this. Yeah because the Italian ref from yesterday was much better...
Stevosevic Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 What's funny? Season ticket since he was 8. Chelsea is his local side, dad took him as a boy. Went to the European Cup final last year, missed exams in the process. Rarely misses a game, including aways. However tonight he couldn't go because he was stranded in the shit hole that is Loughborough because he has a job interview tomorrow up north. Missing the funny bit.

You've played football, you know how emotional it can get. I know Drogba is a bit of a cunt sometimes, but I'll defend him on this occasion.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 I don't have SkySports. Can someone please sum up in one post everything that has happened tonight, and why my friend is spaffing over Iniesta? Thankyou.
Tommeh Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Wow, Have I missed something? Bastard Work. Anyway thrilled Barca went through. If it was as controversial as it sounds then all the better.
Darkzzz_ Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 I don't have SkySports. Can someone please sum up in one post everything that has happened tonight, and why my friend is spaffing over Iniesta? Thankyou. Essien scored a screamer to put Chelsea 1-0 up. Chelsea should have had a penalty at least. Chelsea continued to sit back. Barcelona had possession without a cutting edge. Abidal was harshly sent off. Chelsea (oddly) decide to defend by bringing on Belletti, against 10 men Barcelona. Chelsea continued to sit back. Barcelona couldn't break them down. Messi sets up Iniesta to hit a screamer in the top corner. Advantage Barca! Another penalty shout (not in my opinion) handball against Pique. Ballack nearly kills ref. Barca win on the away goal rule. 1-1 final score. Chelsea players, including captain marvel John Terry lose it. Drogba swears on the Sky Cameras. Hiddink was fantastic in the post match interview Barcelona go to Roma.

Barcelona dommed possesion, but had only one shot on target all game. They had a player (Abidal) sent off that shouldn't have been. Dani Alves got booked and misses the final. Essien scored a screamer. Chelsea had 2 clear cut penalties ruled out and had 2 half decent shouts for two more. Iniesta was probably the best player on the pitch and too, scored a screamer in the last few minutes to send Barca through. Final whistle. Angry Chelsea.

Make the final more interesting I guess.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Whinge whinge whinge, and that's just Leicester fans!! Ludicrous. The ref obviously called everything as he saw it, wrongly on a lot of counts but it went both ways - it was never a red card for Abidal and I feel for him missing the final. The bottom line is that a below-strength Barca dominated possession and managed to keep within one goal all match, knowing that with their attacking talent they would create at least one golden chance. It was just a matter of whether they took it or not and I think it's fitting that the best player on the pitch spanked it in (absolutely brilliant goal - imagine the wankathon if Lampard had scored that). Over the moon, they deserve it so much for playing football the way it should be played and allying a huge amount of spirit and drive to their great technical ability. Fantastic.
martyn Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Sky's post match rage was priceless television. Don't really think you can say either side was a clearly deserving victor over 2 legs, Barca were better in the Nou Camp, Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Loved the fact that Iniesta scored the winner, one of the most likeable players in football in my opinion. No idea how Barca will organise defensively for the final...probably have to choose a back 4 from Puyol, Pique, Sylvinho, Caceres and Yaya Toure.....

It is true, Lampard would have drowned in semen this evening if he hit that winner.Lampard isn't a patch on Iniesta and I really like Lampard too, he is nowhere near him though. FT Barca trip....
