Interesting.

Looks like he could well be staying then.

Sounds the opposite to me. Trying to get fit so when a club comes in for him he will be ready to go. :dunno:

Or maybe he knows no club is going to take him on the wage that he's on, so he's going to fight for a place. We'll have to wait and see.

So DJ going out on loan last season wasn't to show other teams his potential so we can offload him because of his massive wages then instead it was NP's way of giving him some game time so we can utilise his strengths this season and make a 15 goal+ striker out of him rather than having him sit on the bench for the remaining year(s?) of his contract :dunno:

you forget because we got promoted his wages went up so people can't afford him, they could last season

I'd still rather have DJ come off the bench than just about any other striker we have - not that that says a lot about our strike force but if we are going to pay his wages then we may as well try and get some sort of use out of him.

Without summoning the fury of all on here; I don't think he is awful, certainly not compared to Fryatt inhis last season in the Championship. I'd rather play Fryatt next season but at Blackpool DJ showed he does have some sort of eye for the goal.

Nobody can afford to pay his wages as they have increased so it makes sense for city to use him because otherwise DJ will just be sitting on our bench or in the reserves wasting valuable money that could be better spent strengthening our squad.

If he is starting to train a week early and presumably trying to prove his worth here I am happy enough to keep him as back up seeing as we dont have many strikers.

What's he after, a pay rise?

Probably figures after what he said about really not wanting to come back to Leics, he'd better put some work in if he's gonna be 'stuck' here so the fans don't give him shit. Something tells me that if he gets anywhere near the first team he'll get some serious grief from the crowd

If DJ gets near the first team he will have impressed big Nige. Fair play to him, he tried to engineer a move, it hasn't worked, and mayeb he will get his head down and work hard. His Career will pass him by if he wastes a year in the reserves.

after the comments he made about not wanting to go back to leicester we need to find a way of getting rid of him. It would be no use to go for the winston bogarde approach and just leave him sat in the reserves but still lining his pockets.

If he is willing to come out and apologise publicly to the fans and the club for the comments he made then let him have a second chance but if not then rather than keeping him a potentialy disrupting team spirit we need to get rid of him even if it is just as a loan.

DJ deal alive

Blackpool, 17:35, July 1, 2009

Blackpool are still holding out hope of signing DJ Campbell on a permanent basis as his future at Leicester remains uncertain.

The Seasiders are keen to sign the striker after he impressed while on loan last season but it looked as though the player's refusal to lower his wage demands would scupper a deal.

Campbell is said to be on £9,000 a week and Ian Holloway will not be able to match such terms.

However, there have been suggestions that the player is desperate to get away from the Walkers Stadium and could take a pay cut to join the Seasiders if no other attractive offers come along.

Why doesn't DJ Campbell piss off to Manchester United or Liverpool FC they would be able to afford his wage bill, He ought to sit down & have a serious think about reducing it then a few clubs would come in for him.
