suffolk fox Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Jog on people we will not be buying Beckford....Wouldn't want the disruptive mardy git anyway!!
Tommy G Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Jog on people we will not be buying Beckford....Wouldn't want the disruptive mardy git anyway!! Why not? I could give a left bollock if he was mardy, as long as he scores the goals
suffolk fox Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Why not? I could give a left bollock if he was mardy, as long as he scores the goals Why not??? Cos, if we weren't going to pay Lita 17k wages a week on a free we ain't gonna spend 3 million on an untested striker in the Championship! that's why...........

People can step up you know, look at Cahill - he went from Millwall to Everton? I think NP can deal with his attitude. Where did you get the 17k aweek fro, thats very precise? Are yu an insider or just a wannabe
Lester LXXIV Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 I'd rather us get Simeon Jackson at Gillingham, same kind of player but alot cheaper!
Filbert_Ross Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 it would fook my season long bet up but id love to see him at leicester

Are yu an insider or just a wannabe Tommy I am not having a go at you at all, but it is a quote from NP Himself and was in the mercury, that's the reason he didn't go to Sheff Utd either quote:- NP admits today in the mercury he has not been able to compete in the transfer market for certain players and also states leroy lita wages was behond him
Fox92 Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 If Pearson can control his attitude and that, should be a good signing. 3million is a lot of money to be honest though but I would most probably take him. Pace, he can finish and is quite tall. I mean, where would Leeds be without him? His record is superb.

Pricey Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Yeah I've got no doubts to whether he'd be successful in the Championship, bet he wouldn't be far off getting a goal every other game. Surely we must've got more than I thought for Mattock if we can afford 3million, unless we have a taker for DJ lined up? I think Beckford is quality, but I'd maybe prefer to spend that money on 2 players such as Jackson and a left back like Lewington maybe, altough we could do with another tall striker such as Beckford.
Guest Bilo Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 £3 million is a big risk for someone untested in the Championship, especially with what is perceived to be a big ego and attitude. He still has a lot of attributes to offer though and I think he'd be up for playing at a higher level, his loyalty to Leeds is already questionable after the transfer request and Leeds are unlikely to mess around with the fee seeing as they could well lose him on a free at the end of the season if he doesn't sign a new contract. Sitting on the fence though at this kind of money, a signing that could go either way.
maddog Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 If we sign him it's got to give us a good chance of a playoff place. We definitely need a new striker and Beckford is probably the best option. £3m is pricy but even if he doesn't work out we could recoup most of that fee if we sell him. Anyone we sign may not work out but a player of Beckfords calibre has got to get 10 goals at least.

Mickey O'Neil Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 I seriously don't believe this will happen, but, I would take him. IMHO, his attitude problem only stems from the latter part of last season when they didn't go up and he wanted to step up. I'd love this to happen.
Vlad The Impaler Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Why not? I could give a left bollock if he was mardy, as long as he scores the goals Why is it always the left bollock? never the right And Beckford for 3 mil sounds good business to me If we can keep Waghorn till the end of the season then I wouldn't buy though. Will get goals.
Tommy G Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Signed £2.8 million. Can't believe how quick that has gone through. Leeds
Unabomber Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Signed £2.8 million. Can't believe how quick that has gone through.Leeds
dandannieldanok Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Beckford would be a superb signing, but no way will this club be willing to pay £3m if we couldn't afford Lita's wages.
Unit Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 we should just lob them sappleton and d.j and a tenner, job done
escos Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Beckford would be a superb signing, but no way will this club be willing to pay £3m if we couldn't afford Lita's wages. We hadnt sold mattock then!
C-man Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Mattock was sold for just over £1m, where are the other £2m coming from? And then you have to think about his wages - they won't be much lower than Lita's demands.
teblin Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 We hadnt sold mattock then! Plus is we can chuck DJ in as well it would clear enough for Beckfords wages.
Bryn Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Lazy journalism. They've seen we've got money in, they've seen we're still a striker short, and they've seen Beckford's still at Leeds. That said, providing he is comfortably within our price range which I will leave for the board to decide, I think he would be superb for us, and would respect Pearson enough to stay calm. Sending Campbell the other way would be perfect, big wage off the bill, Leeds could afford him and I think he'd get 20 goals for them in League One.
maddog Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 I would hope for more than 10? Thats 300k a goal 10 is a good amount for his 1st season playing most weeks in the Championship and go on to get 20 in the Premiership for us He has made 1 Championship start for Leeds though
