maddog Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Has Bert killed off Knowitall or something?Haven't seen the latter around at all recently Hasn't shown his face since getting the Cox thing wrong. Or perhaps has been sacked by the club for his actions
lou Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 well, thats the problem. Other tarets have been considered and they have turned us down. Such as Simon Cox.We NEED at least another striker. i would much prefer us to take a risk on Beckford than not get another striker in. Beckfords skill and scoring can not be brought into question just his temperament.... i think that is the only concern about signing him.... NP would sort that out!! I wouldnt mind him coming here one bit
Collymore Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Not sure if our style of play would suit beckford - we'll hammer teams down the wings with pace from dyer, dn/gradel crossing for howard with fryatt living off the scraps. Would be nice to have pace upfront in the armory though, not sure i'd be wanting to pay millions for it though.

flanimal Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 N'Guessan's finishing isn't all that. If you check out the goals he scored for Lincoln, I don't think he scored one that wasn't deflected, or bobbled in. If Nigel Pearson and company can work on his shooting and get him up to standard, we got a top striker right there... ... although, easier said than done.
lou Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Rather have Becchio. I bet Wayne Brown would love to see him again too
Legend_in_blue Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 We've been talking on here for weeks about the need to get one or possibly two strikers in. And the only names mentioned to any extent have been Cox, Keogh and Beckford. Top and bottom of it, there really isn't a lot of choice out there. For me, it's either Beckford or Beckford someone from abroad?
ousefox Posted 12 July 2009 Posted 12 July 2009 Was at the York-Leeds game and my mate asked him if he would stay at leeds. He said that he wanted to stay but that it was up to the chairman.

FOX_TROT_07 Posted 17 July 2009 Posted 17 July 2009 Beckford taken off transfer list ............ Good!!! don't want him
MPH Posted 17 July 2009 Posted 17 July 2009 all part of the game... people make bids, leeds want more.. all part of trying to get more money for him!
HankMarvin Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 The sun reports we are ready to join the race for Beckford with a 3 Million bid ;O
Nick Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 The sun reports we are ready to join the race for Beckford with a 3 Million bid ;O *falls out of bed* £3 million..... wow, maybe the yankee billionaires bought us a striker!
teblin Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 3 million? Sounds alot for us to be paying for anyone, guess we'd be using the mattock cash. But would be a very good signing if Pearson can control the attititude.
teblin Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Just had a look at his goalscoring record for leeds 49 in 85 is pretty damn good. Not sure there is anything in this rumour but i may be wrong.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 The sun reports we are ready to join the race for Beckford with a 3 Million bid ;O If thats true i would not be surprised if DJ was not part of the deal.
crazylegs1984 Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 i thought that was another tunchev wind up moment but woohoo bout creamed myself then looking very forward to this if this happens even though £3 mill is quite alot
Toby or not Toby Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Wouldn't mind signing him, but 3 million is alot considering we pulled out of the cox deal due to price
Tommy G Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Wouldn't mind signing him, but 3 million is alot considering we pulled out of the cox deal due to price Yeh but we hadn't sold Mattock at tha\t point. think it would be a brilliant signing, would get us 20 this season i'm sure of it.
ousefox Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 £3m is a lot but he is a very good player. His first goal for Leeds on saturday was exquisite.
