Matt Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is remaining tight-lipped on rumours linking the club with a move for Reading striker Leroy Lita. But BBC Sport understands that Lita, 24, is top of Pearson's wishlist as he looks to sign a forward ahead of the club's return to the Championship. Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester: "We will see what happens. "I know there's a lot of speculation about him [Lita] but I wouldn't like to make any comment at the moment." The former England U-21 international fell out of favour with the Royals last season and spent time on loan with Norwich City. Pearson added: "If we can improve we will but at the moment I can't really elaborate on that. "I won't bring players in for the sake of bringing players in."
stevolcfc Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 I dont know weather he is coming would love him but 1 thing i know is if we dont get a striker soon i thing we will be doomed for the season fryatt proved himself in league 1 ( where he come from ) is it just me or do we usually go for lower league players?
maddog Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Why did NP say in todays Merc: "I don't like talking about anyone elses players as i don't like people talking about my players" when referring to Lita. He's a fooking free agent you idiot.
Guest Bilo Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Why did NP say in todays Merc: "I don't like talking about anyone elses players as i don't like people talking about my players" when referring to Lita. He's a fooking free agent you idiot. Or perhaps he meant that he didn't want to talk about Lita until a deal was actually done or close to being done, so as not to disappoint the fans if talks broke down.

We've signed Hobbs, Brown, Gilbert, Cleverley, Martin and Stockdale all from top flight clubs, so we don't always go for lower-league players. Anyway, our lower-league signings, Morrison and Dyer didn't do too badly last season.
Nick Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Why did NP say in todays Merc: "I don't like talking about anyone elses players as i don't like people talking about my players" when referring to Lita. He's a fooking free agent you idiot. I think Nigel Pearson is a long way from being an idiot. You however are much closer. It was said on a recorded interview and reading between the lines it was more than likely with reference to another squad member that another team is in for, which Nigel does not want them to be made public. Nigel Pearson is not a "fooking idiot" And if he did slip up for 2 seconds with a throw away comment, I'm not sure it particularly matters, you fooking idiot. N.

Firstly... Your a tool. Secondly, whos to say he wasnt talking about another player we are looking at in the striker position, I.E Kermo or someone similar like phillips who does have a club.

Although you're right, calling the best manager we've had since Martin an idiot is harsh. Re-Litre - metric etc
Jimbo Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 I've got a feeling that Lita is wanting more money than we are prepared to offer him. I have been informed that a contract was offered to him but the deal is anything but close. Looks like we'll miss out on him with rumours that Sheff Utd lead the race for him
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 At least we now know we are after him then....
maddog Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Clearly no one got the sarcasm then, your reaction is priceless

Looks like we'll miss out on him with rumours that Sheff Utd lead the race for him Until DJ has gone, NP will not know how much available money there is for any player. When DJ has gone we should all be quite confident that someone of reasonable calibre will arrive very quickly. If DJ don't go, don't hope for too much! It ain't 'rocket science'.

markbsac Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Make DJ play then sell him so we can tell him what we think of him .......like he told everybody what he thought of us !
Corky Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Clearly no one got the sarcasm then, your reaction is priceless You weren't being sarcastic, just normal.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Make DJ play then sell him so we can tell him what we think of him .......like he told everybody what he thought of us ! Theres no point playing a player who doesn't want to play. I would actually rather play N'Guessan up front or even Dickov. Least he know the offside rule.
davieG Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 I think there's a lot of brinkmanship going on with the DJ sale & our situation on buying strikers, it'll be the one that holds their nerve and doesn't panic that will get the best deals. Hopefully that will be NP.
Uncle Monty Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 If your going to do sarcasm at least do it right. Were is the sarcasm in that post of yours I suppose you mean using emoticons? Re: tard
AjcW Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 I suppose you mean using emoticons? Re: tard huh? No I didnt mean that. And I think if you read the last page you will see that there are pleanty of people in agreement with me that maddog was not using sarcasm he was just being his usual self. No need to be offensive mate.
