Ozwin Posted 18 December 2009 Posted 18 December 2009 I'm battering the Belgian league after a little hickup when I installed the patch. Top of the league by 4 points with 3 games to go. Standard are right on my arse and I play them last game of the season. Hopefully will have won the league by then though.
The Doctor Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 just discovered an amazing glitch on 05. lost 3-1 on penalties in the Cl final, when it goes to the news screen it says i've won 3-1 on pens, go to the match report thing and in the overview it's switched everything around so the players who actually scored are down as having missed and vice versa.
Ozwin Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 The Belgian league is annoying, I thought I'd won the league but they do a Scottish thing where the top 6 teams have a little playoff. Pretty annoying. Still top with 2 games to go but I've got Standard and Club Brugge left
Ozwin Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 And he won the league! I'm in the Belgian Hall of Fame now Go me!
Fox92 Posted 20 December 2009 Posted 20 December 2009 What do I do? Third season - Gradel is awesome. However, he has put a transfer request in twice, doesn't want a new contract and thus wants to leave. What do I do? I am not playing him now because of this and his morale has dropped to 'very poor'. Shall I cash in? I am loosing a great player and don't know which winger to replace him with? Jobi McAnuff - Gone to Wigan David Martin - Currently talking with him Lee Cook - Currently talking with him Anybody know anyone else? Young winger to replace Gradel?

Budweiser Posted 21 December 2009 Posted 21 December 2009 Well, in my first season at Notts County I won the league with a convincing 114 points. However, going into my 2nd season in League 1 I was aiming for a play off position come May. First 10 games, won 2 and drew 8. Couldn't stop conceding in the 90th minute. Later on, about the 25 game mark, we went on a 12 game winning run, which shot us up to 1st. Slowly, we slipped down to 3rd. 2 games left in the season, any 2 of 5 team could gain promotion, with a point splitting the top 2 from the other 3. Beat Derby away, 1-0, which meant if I won my last game of the season, I was promoted. Travelled to Rochdale on the last day, needing a win to be champions. So, 30 mins in, 3-0 up, then 4-0. Finished 4-2 and im loving it Now back to reality

He did that with me, and left for Hercules. I got Shaun Maloney on a free to replace him.

Fox92 Posted 22 December 2009 Posted 22 December 2009 Just come off and had a mixed day. Frustrating draw at Colchester, who are bottom, however, I beat Coventry which I have never done before but then lost 3-2 at Preston. Anyway, going back on it later. Hopefully I can pick up a decent run. Current team as of this morning is: Murphey - 600k, Ipswich Smith - 1million, Rangers Beevers - 500k, Sheffield Wednesday Morrison O'Neill Martin - 1million, Millwall Chaplow - 1.7million, Preston Wellens N'Guessan Brandy - Free, Manchester United Gallagher

Daggers Posted 22 December 2009 Posted 22 December 2009 Football Manager 2010: the ultimate budget first elevenAssembling a decent League One or Two side can be tricky, so we've asked Sports Interactive to provide some recommended buys... FM 2010: build the perfect team at a bargain price! As a longtime Football Manager/Champ Man addict, I was heartened to see the game's strong showing in the Gamesblog Best of the Noughties list. It was the only excuse I needed to run some tips for newcomers, or veterans looking to maximise their management potential in the early part of the game. So then, here we have a 'first eleven' of brilliant purchases, selected by Miles Jacobson, the Studio Director at FM creator, Sports Interactive. These are all available at the start of FM 2010 for less than £500k, and are perfect options if you're starting out - as you really ought to - with a League One or Two side. According to Miles, these were all tested with Bury, with only the English league activated and a medium database size. "All have EU nationality, so no problems with work permits," he concludes. If you're looking to get in some modest FM sessions over Christmas, this should help you cobble together a skillful and competitive side quite quickly, leaving plenty of free time to work your way up the league... Goalkeeper Carl Ikeme: 23-year-old 'keeper, currently playing for Wolves. Defenders Salvatore Fresi (DC/DMC): 36-year-old central defender with bags of Serie A experience. Playing with Battipagliese at the opening of FM 2010. Alejandro Cichero (DC): Venezuelan defender with international experience, plying his FM 2010 trade at Chinese club, Shandong FC. He's 32 so has a couple of seasons left in him. Jean Ferrari (DC/DMC): 33-year-old currently running out for Peruvian club FBC Melgar as a midfielder. Allan K Jepsen (DL): 32-year-old left-sided defender with brief international experience. Currently playing for Danish Superliga side, Randers. Midfield Elbekay Bouchiba (ML): Dutch-Moroccan midfielder, 30, previously with FC Twente and Sparta Rotterdam. Now with Qatar side, Al Wakra. Dare Vrsic (AMC): Slovenian international, now playing for FC Timisoara in the Romanian top flight. Just 25 in the game, so could be a good long-term buy. Marian Aliuta (AMC) - In real-life, a well-traveled Romanian midfielder, voted the best player in Divizia A at the close of the 2002/3 season. In FM 2010, you'll find the 31-year-old playing for Azerbaijan side, Neftchi Baku. Strikers Francois Zoko: 25-year-old Ivory Coast striker, available on a free transfer at the opening of FM 2010. Has been called, 'probably the best striker willing to come to League Two' by one FM player at fansite, The Dugout. Andrei Cristea: Pacy Romanian striker, with international experience. He's currently playing for Dinamo Bucharest, and at 25 is another decent long-term investment. Marcin Robak: 26-year-old Polish striker currently with Widzew Łódź. Here
Budweiser Posted 23 December 2009 Posted 23 December 2009 Finished 14th in the Prem with Notts Co. Just got Gignac on a free Couple of Re-Gens + Coutinho. Top half is my minimum aim, considering i've spent nearly 30m. Really need a right midfielder though, and a centre back on the cheap to partner Toprak
Flynny Posted 23 December 2009 Posted 23 December 2009 Allan K Jepsen (DL): 32-year-old left-sided defender with brief international experience. Currently playing for Danish Superliga side, Randers. Always buy him. Taking over at MK Dons, selling Lewington for over a million and then buying Jepsen for 50k felt fantastic.
CosbehFox Posted 23 December 2009 Posted 23 December 2009 a centre back on the cheap to partner Toprak Does he become good then? I bought him for Fener, didn't have a clue if he's one of these super players. Burton Manager at the minute.
Matt Posted 23 December 2009 Posted 23 December 2009 Bloody hell, Was flying high with Shrewsbury, now all of a sudden we can't buy a win. We're about a month of the January transfer window, I'm seriously looking to invest in a decent defence and a decent goalscorer. I requested we had a affiliation with a club and I got Man Utd so I got Cameron Stewart on loan, Pretty good play. I need a decent defence for League One, looking at a possible promotion to the Championship, and a goalscorer, anyone got any tips? Please. Or if anyone has tips that changes and helps my tactics that would be much appreciated too! Thanking-You.
Fox92 Posted 23 December 2009 Posted 23 December 2009 That div Gradel! Transfer listed himself, wanting to leave ages ago and nobody wanted him. Now, lots of clubs want him and Standard have offered him a contract. Which means, he is going to leave on a bloody free! With me missing out on about 2million.
Budweiser Posted 23 December 2009 Posted 23 December 2009 Does he become good then? I bought him for Fener, didn't have a clue if he's one of these super players. Burton Manager at the minute. Toprak is quality for the Prem. The big boys are already sniffing around him. He'll probably be gone in Jan
The Doctor Posted 23 December 2009 Posted 23 December 2009 taken them to a replay at stamford bridge. gah. lost 5-4 in the replay, last minute winner from carvalho.
DB11 Posted 24 December 2009 Posted 24 December 2009 Bloody hell, Was flying high with Shrewsbury, now all of a sudden we can't buy a win. Does it coincide with the 10.2 patch? On the SI forums everyone is saying that the new patch makes previous tactics that were godlike on 10.1 now redundant!
