The Doctor Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 hmm. penalty looked harsh, he's so close to the lad, also that one that stopped fryatt from getting the ball back after the goal by lying on it is an utter twat.
Kent Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 It said the penalty was from another handball from Morrison. Is that right? I thought it was someone else.
goose2010 Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 no it was kennedy and it seemed very harsh!! and fryatts sending off did look very harsh! i thought there was a law these days that defenders arent allowed to stop you getting the ball??
fox123 Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 Pity he didn't twat him in the head in stead of his back.
MC Prussian Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 Penalty to Norwich - very harsh. Can't tell by the video whether Kennedy actually moved his arm deliberately towards the ball or whether the ball simply hit him accidentally. Also, the red card against Fryatt? WTF? Laughable. The referees are getting away with everything these days when it comes to LCFC and with us languishing at the bottom of the table, we just seem to be at the receiving end of the ladder. Joke. It's a conspiracy!!! Still, the defense had yet another shocker. Hoolahan's shot a stunner, can't do much about that (even though Ikeme was slightly too far outside his box).

Joke. It's a conspiracy!!! Fryatt did lash out at him. Silly but understandable reaction to his frustrations...
surrifox Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 Fryatt looked sharp and alert - tap in for the first but second was taken well
Babylon Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 What the feck was Lamey doing for the third!!! A red card for that??? I thought he'd proper booted the bloke that was f'in ridiculous.
MC Prussian Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 Fryatt did lash out at him. Silly but understandable reaction to his frustrations... I can make out some shoving and pushing from Fryatt, but that one kick at the end of the scramble didn't seem to be coming with full force, if you ask me.
Finchy Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 *Waits for DB11 to explain the rules and claim the ref was right.*
MattyFromLE Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 Red Card seemed a little bit errr...harsh

Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 The Fryatt incident requires a little common sense from the referee. Leicester are bottom of the league, they have just got themselves back into a game that looked beyond them with not very long to go, and Norwich have a player jumping on top of the ball stopping anybody taking it back to the centre to speed things up. Just because the ref doesn't share our desire to equalise and possibly win, it doesn't mean he can't appreciate the urgency with which we want to get the game going again. Simply telling Fryatt to calm it down would have sufficed. I am tired of referees hiding behind the letter of the law when they should be proponents of the spirit of the law.

I said something similar in the Crap Refs thread, it would be nice if common sense was used every once in a while.
Webbo Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 I honestly don't know how anybody can complain at that red card. Stevie Wonder would have given it. He kicked the guy in the ribs.
StanSP Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 I honestly don't know how anybody can complain at that red card. Stevie Wonder would have given it. He kicked the guy in the ribs. Exactly. And the fact that people are saying the referee should take in to account where we are in the league etc would be displaying common sense. Well that's not common sense; that's showing bias. It was a red. Barnett shouldn't have been a dickweed doing what he did. Fryatt shouldn't have kicked out.

He kicked the guy in the ribs. Have you ever been actually kicked in the ribs? You don't start sprinting around 30 seconds later. The guy ran 10 yards specifically to block Fryatt, jumped on the ball, and then wondered why Fryatt's foot lightly brushed past his torsoe. The game was reaching the closing stages, bottom of the league Leicester had an outside chance of getting an unbelievably vital point from a game that looked lost, emotions are high, and to make it worse an opposition player is deliberately preventing Leicester from hurrying things along. I'd be annoyed if Fryatt didn't react angrily as a result of all these things combined. It shows he has passion and a sense of urgency about our position. The ref appears not to understand that urgency. Red cards should be a last resort; a decent talking to would have been more than enough. And a good talking to for the div who jumped on the ball and deliberately prevented playing on would be in order to. Maybe it's too much like common sense though.

It's not the refs job to bear in mind the position we're in. Fryatt kicked the guy in the ribs, whether it hurt or not is besides the point, it was a sending off offence.
