jimmy7587 Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Hello All I have been approached by an author of a football anorak to give my opinions on LCFC matters and what the fans' opinions are. I was found due to being a lcfc blogger (www.lcfc.wordpress.com) so they think i'm of good pedigree, but the questions that have been asked really seem to personal if I answer them. Plus, I've only started the blog and want more input from others. It's basic at the moment.... so, firstly... can you list LCFC'c finest 5 players in your opinion?? And why... Personally, my top 5 Steve Walsh Gary Linekar Muzzy Izzet Keith Weller Trevor Benjamin, for comedy value! I am grateful for your help and hope this is a worthy topic :-)

I am grateful for your help and hope this is a worthy topic :-) Sorry to be pedantic but 2 differing categories in my opinion! A hero is someone who achieved for the club in meaningful fixtures and was consistent, where as our finest players have not always been LCFC hero's, if that makes sense. Finest player or Hero? Hero 1-5 1 Walsh 2 Claridge 3 Elliott 4 Izett 5 Lineker Finest Players 1 Banks 2 Shilton 3 Worthington 4 Lineker 5 Collymore
Uncle Albert Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 1 - Stevie Walsh 2 - Muzzy Izzett (technically the best player I have seen at Leicester) 3 - Matt Oakley (Love him as footballer) 4 - Richard Stearman (Love him) 5 - Matt Elliott
AjcW Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 1: Muzzy 2: Cottee 3: Stan the man(Just because he was great fun to watch). 4: Gary Lineker. 5: This might sound to early for hero status but simply based on last season(I dont think we would of got up without him) Jack Hobbs(like a developing hero).
iancognito Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 1. Martin O'Neill 2. Tommy Wright (circa 1992, not the other one) can't believe it's 16 years since he left! 3. Steve Walsh 4. Muzzy Izzet 5. Kevin "Rooster" Russell
topharry123 Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 1. matt elliott 2. steve walsh 3. gary lineker 4. frank worthington 5. richie wellens The last one is more of a "if he carries on the way he started, he's going to be remembered for a long long time!"
Ultra Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 1) Steve Walsh - Wembley 94 and a host of other glorious memories (including that bust up with Ian Wright after the 3-3 Arsenal game ) 2) Keith Weller - the most skilful player I've EVER seen in a City shirt 3) Muzzy Izzet - His career with us took him further than he could ever have imagined, including a World Cup semi (one of VERY few English-born players to have managed this in the current decade) 4) Steve Claridge - lower-league journeyman who earned fame and glory with two memorable winners in big games for us. 5) Matt Elliott - possibly MON's best signing for us and earned us another win at Wembley. Cult heroes. 1) Ali Mauchlen 2) Kevin Russell 3) Gary Coatsworth 4) Jamie Lawrence 5) Ian Marshall
Raj Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Phil Gee David Lowe Ian Ormondroyd David Coatsworth Josh Low
Candidcamera Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 My all time favourites - 1. Derek Dougan 2. Frank Worthington 3. Keith Weller 4. Gary Lineker 5. Emile Heskey
surrifox Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 I know these lists are a load of something and nothing but should any list of great LC players/heroes ever omit Gordon Banks? England will probably only ever win the world cup once and that team included a city player - the best keeper of his generation
davieG Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Davie Gibson Derek Dougan Keith Weller Muzzy Izzet Gary Parker
