Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 Koumas is a very good player. Easily the best midfielder Wales have had in a long while, and they will miss him. But in comes Adny King.
Edmund Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 It's good to see that the CONCACAF is heating up for once. Surprised to see Honduras doing so well, so hats off to them. Would be an excellent encounter against the Southamerican 5th if Mexico finished in 4th place. Im not. They have some good players (three in the EPL inc Palacios) and I read recently Steve Bruce is looking to sign a Honduran in the transfer window. Also they have Suazo who plays at Inter. They seem to be a nation on a steady incline in the footy world.
purpleronnie Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 Watched Honduras they're a decent side, the quality seems to be improving in the so called 'smaller nations' over here.
Finnegan Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 Easily the best midfielder Wales have had in a long while ... ? Koumas is quality, though. And he's always at his best for Wales - Martinez described him as a 'magician' lately and he's not wrong. I once (probably laughably) claimed that he's one of the best British midfielders playing, on his day. And to some extent I'd stick by that even though I was probably mostly having a playful dig at Lamps and Gerrard. He's an immensely talented player with great touch, great vision and fantastic technique. But he's just a moody, injury prone, lazy bastard. He will be missed and I'm a bit gutted but it's not as bad as it would have been had he gone 18 months ago really.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 I remember when Koumas refused to play for WBA under Robson, after he stated he wanted to go back to Cardiff in some way. Robson declared war and said he wouldnt be paid, before saying after about a month: 'Koumas must have a big bank balance if he doesnt want to play'!
The Blur Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 I was just about to come on here and say he won't be missed, but after reading the BBC article and seeing he's got 10 goals in 34 appearances, then maybe I'm wrong. I think the most of the goals was pentalies mind though
AjcW Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 Watching England Women v Holland women semi final. 1-1 after 65 minutes. Theres a few "Nice" ladies out there... like the england goalkeeper and many more... But obviously the real reason im watching is for the football...
TrickyTrev Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 Whilst id allow myself a little chuckle it would be criminal not to see Messi at SA 2010 Indeed, a tournament without Messi and Ronaldo would be weird.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 Indeed, a tournament without Messi and Ronaldo would be weird. I for one will be delighted to see no Ronaldo and Portgual at the WC, I bet they were happy to see us not qualify for Euro 08.
Finnegan Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 I think the most of the goals was pentalies mind though Ugh, a good mix really. Set pieces, he's a good free kick taker, and a few from open play. He's a good all-round attacking midfielder.

Ultra Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 It's not guaranteed. They have a VERY tricky trip to Paraguay in midweek. Maradona is providing yet more evidence that great players don't always make great managers.

He probably would have been a good manager if he didn't start on the drugs and get fat, etc and instead had a 'normal' finish to his career.
Samilktray Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 I for one will be delighted to see no Ronaldo and Portgual at the WC, I bet they were happy to see us not qualify for Euro 08. Portugal probably couldnt give a fuck about us.
Ultra Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 Right now, they can't afford to care for anyone except themselves..
Darkzzz_ Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 Great strike yet again by the impressive youngster. Edit: Jovetic's goal is would you are looking at.
Ultra Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 I see Kishishev scored their first and Tunch didn't play. Wonder if he'll feature in the Italy game on Wednesday?

Father Ted Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 Great strike yet again by the impressive youngster. Edit: Jovetic's goal is would you are looking at. I've been impressed with the Montenegrins. They will be a decent competitive side in a couple of years and I reckon they could well make the Euros in 2012.
Bert Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 I seen something on SSN earlier, and it shown the teams currently in 2nd place that would get in the playoffs - Scotland were 6th or 7th. Hungary are currently the team miss out. I'm pretty sure that's what was said.

I cant see Scotland making it past the playoffs anyway! Not if they end up with France or Russia
