You can't score a goal from a throw in without a player touching the ball before it goes into the net.

Rory De Lap threw the ball directly into the net a couple of weeks ago ( can't remember who Stoke were playing), but the ref dissallowed it...no goal.

It was last Sunday??

And a goal kick is given :)

I've never seen him play and it might just be the fact that we've not had any football for ****ING AGES it seems, but this signing has really excited me. I think he's going to be awesome.

Robbie will certainly not set the heather alight for you guys, but what you will get is a guy who is 100% fully committed to any cause that is put to him. Hes a kinda head down, get on with it guy, not all flash and look at me crap.

Robbie is a strong family man whos wife is due their 3rd baby at the end of June, so no gambling or nights out worry there. Ive notcied a couple of posts his height is queried, Robbie is over 6 foot, that i can assure you, regardless of what the Hearts trust have put up. He is a genuinly really nice guy off the pitch, but will fight for 90 mins on the park. His pace has let him down as has his first touch, but he will nor shy away or hide on the park. He stands by his convictions and will back team mates up, Just ask Lee Miller at Aberdeen with the punch up in the tunnel after the game!

I see a few posters from jambos kickback have already been on here and slagged Robbie off, most of them have never rated Robbie and nothing he does other than "the tackle" will ever be acknowledged by them.

I for one am, sad to see him go.

Good luck Robbie

sounds like he'd be a decent shout as captain - i know he's new, but i don't think anyone here rates oakley or clemence's stewardship...

I rate Oakley as captain.

But Neilson sounds as if he has pure inspirational qualities because of being captain at Hearts. So wouldn't be surprised if he was given the captaincy role or VC role.

Never seen him play but am underwhelmed. I've not been impressed with anyone we've brought down from Scotland in recent seasons and at a time when our team needs more pace rather than less he hardly sounds like a major plus.

But, we'll see. Be nice to hear of us signing someone exciting.

Even Paddy Kisnorbo?

I like this.

We need players who want to get involved and go into every tackle with every intention of winning back the ball. Not the first time I've heard these attributes either, which probably means its right! Just hope he shows it for us!

agreed , every team needs this type of player , i think he's going to add a bit of bite

Yes. I was never a fan despite his undoubted commitment. Yes, I loved his last ditch blocks and coltish determination but I never saw the point of so often winning the ball and then promptly giving it away.

One advantage Neilson might bring is that he is a more experienced player amongst what at times could be a youthful defence. A back 4 of Neilson, Hobbs, Morrison and Mattcok is quite plausible is suppose, although I've not seen Tunchev or Brown, would you expect them to be your first choice centre backs next year?

Tunchev and Hobbs will be first choice centre backs, I'd assume.

I rate Oakley.

I rated Howard even more when he has been captain on the odd occasion this season.

I think Oakley will still be captain but I'm looking forward to see this guy in action because he sounds like he give his all and wants to play for Leicester.

it's a small point but this is incorrect. I think the figure of 5ft9 is accurate, bumped into Robbie on George St. and was very surprised at how small he was.

neilson is playing ok, hes been caught once or twice but did well a second ago to control a shocking pass and win a free kick. did get forward with a nice one two but his second pass was poor.

his positioning looks quite good tbh.

btw that link^^ keeps changing between the celtic game and the rangers game.
