There must be some worried people coming home now. Terrified at the prospect of us getting promotion.

ITS OCTOBER!!;)

For the record "worrying" over getting promoted was the last thing on my mind. I was proud, elated, and really really happy Id gone after having second thoughts early on in the week.

Im not going to get carried away this early in the season. Whatever happens Im just very happy we have far exceeded most fans expectations so far

Lets get carried away :yahoo::dance::celebrate:

Had we one or more of Watford/P'Boro/Derby/Ipswich/Sheff Utd, we would be at least 2 points clear now.

This season so far has been amazing, and i'm enjoying it just as much as strolling through League One last season.

Enjoying an LCFC Championship season, whatever next!

It's too easy for people to draw comparisons with our performance last year and automatically extrapolate that we are certs to go up.

Life isn't like this.

2 home games in a row next though.

Beating West Brom will guarantee we will be above them, and beating Plymouth SHOULD be a certainty after the way we played last night.

These 2 away games were MASSIVE, to win them both leading into 2 home games is really good.

If only we could play at home like we've played away this season, and fans will flock like sheep to the Walkers.

Don't make us bankers to go up.

Season in season out, teams have a massive run then fade away - Cardiff seem to make it their annual target.

Talking about promotion in October just seems a bit presumptuous to me.

if we lose the next 5 games we will be near the relegation zone

Which should shut maddog up for a while, for sure.

I'm stuck between choosing one evil over the other...

NEGATIVITY ALERT!

We won't get promoted, we are far too inconstant to mount a proper promotion challenge, play-offs however beckon...

Look at the amount of games we have lost, home and away, and compare that to ANY other team in the division...

Hopefully we do get fans down the Walkers, it should persuade Milan to get his chequebook out. Although, on last night's performance, I don't know who we'd need to buy.

Easy to write Plymouth off but they'll be looking to play like Derby and maybe nick one on the break as Commons so nearly did. Careful.

Close it, quick!

No offense mate but I'd rather we weren't talking about promotion yet, let's just quietly go about winning games here and there and see where we are at Xmas

Agree, the moment we start talking about it is the moment we start to believe the hype and dip in form.... let's just pretend we are mediocre mid-table Leicester City for a bit longer..>!

Absolutely right! Especially when its so tight points-wise in this league, its not like were running away with it already. Lets just be delighted with how weve started and enjoy it.

Wellens and Oakley are both on 4 yellows :o I believe.

Thats not good, especially when it comes to Wellens. Lets hope we continue to be lucky with injuries too

We're are looking really good, and I am over the moon with back to back away wins, West Brom at home is a big test of our mettle in this division, if we can take points off of them I think we can mount a good attack on this league, but it's way too early to be thinking about promotion.

We need a decent right back, but who is there around that is solid at defending and can get forward as well? because everything seems to go down our left wing especially when Oakley is drafted out wide right

Neilson has his limitations but I think he's been generally fine with a couple of shaky performances thrown in.

Will echo what people are saying, it's far too early in the season to be considering promotion. For me, a top 10 finish would still be a decent seson but naturally, expectations will now rise considering our start.

:) I appreciate that. I was just having a bit of a chuckle at the people who say that they don't want promotion.

WBA next week will be a good indicator of where we are (btw Mattock looked good on TV last night). But even if we win that game it won't guarantee anything.

Good for you. Hope you enjoyed it.

I no i am being brave as a new member of foxes-talk starting this topic but i have been with leicester through the good and the bad and this is the best i've seen us look in years i genuinely feel we can challenge for promotion this year. I can't remember the last time i had confidence in a Leicester team/squad or a Leicester manager.

I feel the next two games against QPR and West Brom will give us more of an idea of weather we can cut it at the top of this division, we have beaten Middlesborough put in a good show at sheffield united and could have had Newcastle on another day the only time i feel we have been shown up this season was Preston. Even when we don't really deserve it e.g Reading we are getting results!!

Squad wise i feel we have a great squad and with the addition of a solid right back maybe a loan deal and holding mid could be davids we have got a squad that could go somewhere this year!!!

We have a great manager, a strong squad and with a couple of additions in january i reckon we could get play-offs this year.

Any thoughts??????

we newbes are not allowed to air your thoughts by starting a topic ? sounds like abit of a closed shop? JimmyJam.

Better start dropping your trousers and bending over JimmyJam before you dare start a new topic next time.

Well for me it's just a case of finance.

I doubt very much whether I can afford to watch live LCFC games if we go up. So promotion for me = armchair fan.

I know what I'd prefer although of course there's no guarantee the way we are headed that I'll be able to afford Championship football.

I'll throw you a few coppers from my Box ;)

Here's a rhetorical/hypothetical question for everyone that doesn't seem to want Leicester to win promotion: if City were to make it to the playoff final at Wembley, would you want them to lose that game?

You can probably infer from that question how I feel about this matter.

If we got promoted, we'd get killed.

Much rather have success in the Championship :)

Why would we ? We certainly wouldn't set it alight, but Nigel has seemed to have done well with us so far. Were doing better this season than people expected.

Success = promotion. You can't have your cake and eat it, too.

Well, actually, I guess if Leicester City ever do win promotion, Milan Mandaric can write a letter to the Premier League informing them that he will politely decline their invitation to allow his club to play in their division. That'd be swell.
